Beyoncé released a new song, Morning Dew, Donk, as a Fourth of July surprise for fans. The song, written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The Dream, and Darius Dixon is a countdown to her birthday and 20th anniversary reissue of her album, B'Day. Madonna released her 15th studio album, Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 album, Confessions on a Dancefloor. The album, featuring collaborations with Stuart Price, Martin Garrix, Sirket, and Andrew Watt, has been praised by critics as her best work in two decades. Confessions II marks her return to Warner Brothers and includes a 10-minute musical film directed by Torso.
Sepultura is on their farewell tour, which they decided to embark on to end their career on a high note. The band wants to celebrate their history and achievements with fans worldwide before stepping away. The decision was influenced by the desire to avoid a negative breakup and to explore new creative opportunities. The Toy Story 5 soundtrack, led by Taylor Swift's I Knew It, I Knew You, debuted at number one on the Kid Albums chart and number two on the Soundtracks chart. It also entered the Billboard 200 and number 67, marking the highest charting Toy Story album ever. The soundtrack featuring Randy Newman's score is available on digital and will be released on CD and vinyl on September 18
Maren Morris announced she is taking a break from touring after her current DreamGIRL Tour concludes on August 15th. She plans to focus on songwriting and spending time with her son, who is starting kindergarten. Morris also expressed interest in writing music for Broadway, citing its storytelling medium. Ateez achieved their third number one on the Billboard 200 with Golden Hour Part 5, earning 228,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This marks their ninth consecutive top ten album on the chart, making them the group with the most top tens in the 2020s. The album's success was driven by strong album sales, with 223,000 units sold, aided by multiple CD and vinyl variants. YoungBoy Never Broke Again's concert film, American Youngboy, documenting his sold-out arena tour, is now available on Prime Video. The film, directed by Nico Ballesteros, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the tour and serves as a character study of the rapper. YoungBoy, born Cantrell Deshaun Galden, has achieved significant success on the Billboard charts with 34 albums and four number one albums.
Oasis released the first trailer for their reunion documentary, Don't Look Back In Anger, chronicling their live 25 comeback tour. The documentary, directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, features behind-the-scenes footage and the Gallagher brothers' first joint interview in 25 years. It will be released in theaters on September 11th and stream on Disney Plus and Hulu later this year. Blackpink's Jennie headlined Denmark's Rockslide Festival and Poland's Opener Festival, becoming the first K-pop solo artist to headline two major European music festivals back to back. Jennie performed hits like Mantra and Extra L at the festivals. And finally, the Country Music Hall of Fame will open a new exhibit, Kenny Chesney, Living in Fast Forward on July 23rd. The exhibit will showcase Chesney's journey from East Tennessee to country music stardom, featuring memorabilia like his Gibbs High School Varsity Jacket, a guitar from East Tennessee State University, and the Wicker Rocking Chair that inspired Old Blue Chair. The exhibit will be on display through June 2027
