L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help her fund her extensive care and support. Despite her diagnosis, L7 will continue their last hurrah tour at Finch's request. StubHub is facing a class action lawsuit alleging fraud and consumer protection violations. The lawsuit claims that StubHub misled consumers by not disclosing CEO Eric Baker's financial stake in a ticket reselling fund, Andro Capital, which has profited from the platform. The lawsuit seeks damages for those who purchased tickets believing they were buying from individual fans.
Nominations for the 2026 Humanitas Prizes honoring TV and film writers have been announced. KPop Demon Hunters, Song Sung Blue and Billy Joel and So It Goes are among the nominees. The award ceremony will be hosted by Ashley Nicole Black on September 9th. Boosie Badazz is suing lobbyists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burman for $300,000, claiming they failed to secure a pardon from President Trump despite promising to do so. The rapper paid the lobbyist $600,000 to seek a pardon while facing sentencing on gun possession charges. Wallen and Burkman argue the contract was never signed and claim they worked hard on the case.
BMG has acquired the remaining interest in the publishing catalogs of Hal David, John Lee Hooker, and ARC Music. This acquisition, which began in 2016, brings songs by iconic artists like Chuck Berry, Etta James, and Howlin Wolf into BMG's portfolio. The catalogs of these legendary musicians are considered cornerstones of modern music and will be protected and introduced to new audiences.
Garth Brooks will maintain his single price ticketing policy for his upcoming Blame It All On My Roots Tour, ensuring all fans pay the same price regardless of seat location. The tour kicks off on August 21st and 22nd in Indianapolis, with tickets going on sale July 17th. Brooks believes this pricing model fosters a communal atmosphere and strengthens his connection with fans.
TXT's Yeonjun's solo single Ice Cream reached 10 million views on YouTube in three days. The song topped iTunes charts in ten regions, and the EP sold over 660,000 copies on its release day. Pink Pantherous will make her acting debut in a new film by The Daniels, the Oscar-winning directing duo behind Everything Everywhere All at. Once. The untitled movie, set for release on November 19th, 2027, also stars Matt Damon and Sandra Oh. Mastodon announced their ninth album, Marrow Deep, their first without Brent Hinds. The album, featuring Josh Homme, will be released on August 28th and is available for pre-order. The band will celebrate the release with the Poisonous Weapons Tour starting September 16th. Swedish entertainment company Pophouse Entertainment acquired a 50% stake in Iron Maiden's publishing and master music rights, as well as a stake in their name, image and likeness rights. The deal includes rights to Eddie, Maiden's mascot, and Pophouse plans to use these rights to enhance the band's cinematic and immersive projects. The partnership aims to accelerate Iron Maiden's future plans, including a film of their Run For Your Lives world tour and interactive fan experiences. And finally, Tye Blue, director and co-creator of Titaníque, has joined the creative team of The Pyramid, an unauthorized dance moms musical. The musical, conceived by James Striska and Isabel Grace, is a parody of the Lifetime series Dance Moms and is being produced by Logan Clark. A Kickstarter campaign for the musical launched to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the show's premiere. And it's Tuesday, let's take a look at the top five albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
