The company highlighted the success of new products like its AI Playlisting and Remixing tools, as well as its ticketing initiative, Reserved. While acknowledging concerns about AI investment, Spotify emphasized that its expenses are under control and that it is strategically investing in AI to enhance its platform. Hundreds of mourners, including Bono and Eddie Vedder, attended the funeral of Oscar-winning songwriter Glen Hansard in Dublin. Hansard, known for his work with the Frames and his Oscar-winning song Falling Slowly, died in a motorcycle crash at age 56 His widow, Mare Saritza, read a poem she had written for him.

David Rivkin, known as David Z, a frequent Prince collaborator and renowned producer, has died at 78 Rivkin, who helped create the Minneapolis sound, notably contributed to Prince's hit Kiss, and co-produced Fine Young Cannibals, She Drives Me Crazy. He was also a member of Lips Inc., known for their 1980 hit, Funky Town.
Charli XCX is nominated for Best Original Song at the 2026 World Soundtrack Awards for House from Weathering Heights. The song is competing against four others from 2025 films, Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters, Train Dreams from the film of the same name, No Place Like Home from Wicked for Good, and Stolen Tale from Hedda. The ceremony will take place on October 10th. And finally, Canadian rock band Autumn Kings experienced engine trouble with their van, jeopardizing their appearance at the Upheaval Festival. A Good Samaritan named Ernie Russell offered to lend them his car, allowing them to make it to the festival.
