It's Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 I'm Brian Ibbott, here are your music headlines for today. Ella Langley's Choosin Texas holds the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 16th week, tying for the fourth longest run in the charts history. Country music dominates the top five for the first time with Langley, Morgan Wallen and their duet occupying three of the spots. Wallen's new single, Ben By Now, debuts at number two, marking his 20th Hot 100 top ten. Bruce Springsteen shared that his wife, Patti Scialfa, is in remission from multiple myeloma after eight years of treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Scialfa, who was diagnosed in 2018, talked about her diagnosis in their 2024 documentary Road Diary, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Springsteen and Scialfa appeared via video at this weekend's gala for the Pan-Mass Challenge Bike Race, supporting cancer research and treatment at the Institute.
Shakira and Burna Boy's Dai Dai remains the top song globally for the fourth week on the Billboard Global 200 and sixth week on the global exclusive US chart. Morgan Wallen's Ben By Now debuts at number four on the Global 200, while Katseye's Animal enters the top ten at number ten. The Gregg Allman documentary, Gregg Allman, The Music of My Soul, will have over 40 one night only screenings and music venues across the country. The screenings, which will feature Q&As with the film's director and producer, will begin September 1st in Seattle and continue through March 18th, 2027 in San Francisco.
Country artist Ben Chapman criticized Nashville artists for releasing repetitive albums, urging them to embrace creativity and the genre's history. During an interview on the Whiskey Riff Podcast, Chapman said, I feel like in Nashville, there's a lot of phone in records. A lot of people make the same record over and over again, which if I'm making millions a year and people are expecting that of me, how could you not fall into that trap?
Ella Langley is collaborating with Shiner Beard, who launched a limited edition Dandelion Honey Kölsch, inspired by her album Dandelion. The beer, brewed with Dandelion Honey, will be available on August 13th. Fenix Flexin's solo hit Rubberz has sparked speculation about its origins, with some suggesting it was AI-generated. The track has climbed to number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but the song's departure from Fenix's usual style and its audio quality, including artifacts and anomalies, contribute to these suspicions.
Elvis Costello's 49th anniversary edition of My Aim Is True will be released on October 2nd. The five-CD box set includes 104 tracks, 52 previously unreleased recordings, demos, outtakes, live performances and archival recordings. The collection documents Costello's evolution from an aspiring songwriter to a defining voice in rock music.
And finally, VHS mixtape, the 9th installment of the VHS found footage horror anthology, will debut on Shudder on October 9th. The film, featuring music and sound as sources of terror, includes contributions from RZA, Flying Lotus, Ghosts, Tobias Forge and GWAR. And it's Tuesday. Let's take a look at the top five albums on the Billboard 200 chart. Number five, The Great Divide by Noah Khan. Number four, Dandelion by Ella Langley. Number three, Music Fashion Film by Charlie XCX. Number two, You Seem Pretty Sad for Girl So In Love by Livia Rodrigo. And number one, I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen.
