It's Monday, August 3rd, 2026 I'm Brian Ibbott, and here are your music headlines for today.
Ariana Grande's new album, Petal, topped Billboard's new music poll with 41% of the vote. The album, released during her Eternal Sunshine Tour, features a satirical music video for the title track. Other new releases from artists like Cardi B and DeVito trailed behind in the poll. Speaking of Miss Grande, she will take a break from public life after her Eternal Sunshine Tour ends on September 1st. This includes withdrawing from the West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George. The decision comes amid ongoing concerns over Grande's well-being. Morgan Wallen's album, I'm the Problem, returns to number one on the Billboard 200 chart for the 14th week, boosted by the release of a new song. Charli XCX's album, Music, Fashion, Film, debuts at number three, marking her fourth top 10 album and largest debut week. John 5 and Wednesday 13 announced a collaboration for the Summer Fall 2027 Touring Season. This will be the first time John 5's band, The Creatures, will feature a singer, and they will perform songs from John 5's past projects, including Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. Their first announced show is the Wacken Open Air Festival in July 2027
In addition to John 5 and Wednesday 13, the rest of the Wacken Open Air 2027 lineup has been announced, featuring bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Helloween, Electric Callboy, and DragonForce. The festival will take place from July 28th to the 31st in North Germany. Billie Eilish's concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft, The Tour Live, co-directed with James Cameron, will debut on Paramount Plus on August 6th. The film features footage from her 2025 Manchester shows, behind the scenes moments, and an interview conducted by Cameron. It includes performances of her biggest singles, such as Bad Guy and What Was I Made For. And finally, Travis Kelce is reportedly considering a career in country music, after performing at his wedding to Taylor Swift. Sources suggest the performance was a test run to gauge his potential in the industry. While some doubt his understanding of the challenges, others believe his work ethic and his connection to Taylor Swift could give him an advantage.
And it's Monday, let's take a look at the top five singles on the Billboard 100 chart. Number five, Hate That I Made You Love Me by Ariana Grande. Number four, I Can't Love You Any More by Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen. Number three, Boston by Stella Lefty. Number two, I Knew It, I Knew You by Taylor Swift.
And number one, Choosin Texas by Ella Langley. Want to be the first to hear about future live streams? Discuss the latest news? Talk about music and help shape the future of the show?
