I feel like my relationship with money has changed a lot as I've gotten older. It mostly used to be about am I paying my bills and putting some money away? Now there are so many moving pieces and competing priorities, so I wanna feel like I know exactly where I stand, not just hope that everything's okay. So that's what I like about Monarch. Having our accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending all in one place, it gives me a much clearer picture. There have definitely been months where I've looked at our spending breakdown and thought, wait, we spent that much on that? Seeing it all laid out makes those patterns really obvious. I also love Monarch's AI assistant. I can just ask questions about my finances instead of digging through transactions myself. It definitely takes some of the mental load out of managing money and helps me feel like we actually know where we stand. So write your own money story with Monarch. Use the code MoNews at monarch.com to get your first year of Monarch Core half off at just $50 that is 50% off your first year at monarch.com code MoNews.

All right, everybody. Between daily podcast recordings, managing MoNews, workouts, life with a newborn and a toddler, I have learned that drinking water isn't always enough. When I'm dragging, dealing with brain fog or feel a headache coming on, sometimes what I really need is electrolytes. That's why we have partnered for a long time with Element Electrolyte Powder. Each pack delivers a meaningful dose of electrolytes with zero sugar, no artificial colors, and none of the dodgy ingredients found in many popular sports drinks. My go-to flavors are lemonade and grapefruit salt, though they have a whole variety available for all of you. Right now, MoNews listeners can get a free eight-count sample pack of Element's most popular drink mix flavors, so you can figure out which one is your favorite. They also have a flavorless pack, by the way. You can find that all over at drinklmnt.com/monews, that is drinklmnt.com/monews, drinklmnt.com/monews.

We've heard from so many of you who have made this a regular part of your life. Let us know about your Element experience and your favorite flavor. This will change the way you think about hydration. Again, go out and get that special MoNews deal over at drinklmnt.com/monews.

Hey everybody, it is Monday, October 5th. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.

Jill Wagner (2:21)

And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.

Mosheh Oinounou (2:25)

And we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to.

Jill Wagner (2:30)

Moshe, for everyone who's listening to this podcast and not watching it over on YouTube, we coincidentally are twinsies right now. We're both wearing the color of the season, burgundy, you tell me everyone's calling it, not maroon.

Mosheh Oinounou (2:44)

Yeah, yeah, burgundy is the fancy way to say maroon. Jill, just before the podcast started, you were really excited about our chit chat at the top because it turns out that the color of our sweater is not the only exciting thing to be looking at right now.

Jill Wagner (3:04)

It's actually going to be the best fall foliage or color season in years. So the last few years in October, we were in a drought. So that meant that the trees were under a bit of stress, the colors were not as vibrant and did not last as long. But this year, no drought in New England and in the Northeast, there have been plenty of mild sunny days according to meteorologists. So the colors are already coming out in New England and upstate New York, which should make for a very pretty fall, which is my favorite season. So I am happy about this. Mosheh was basically rolling his eyes and he's like, well, what else do you have to talk about? But I like this topic.

Mosheh Oinounou (3:44)

Yeah, you want to get up there, look at the foliage, there's apple picking.

There's a lot to do up there. It's a beautiful time of year. And Jill, you're not the only person who loves fall. It is the most popular season in America. So we'll see all of you driving through upstate New York in the coming weeks.

Jill Wagner (4:00)

All right, so the headlines now, some new reporting on how Cornell disciplined the seven fraternity brothers, who Jane Doe accused of sexual assault back in 2024 It comes as New York Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed Attorney General Letitia James as an independent special prosecutor to investigate the case. The Supreme Court begins its new term today, and some of the biggest political and cultural fights in America are on the docket. We'll preview a few of the big cases we're watching. We'll expect decisions on the assault weapons ban, Trump's immigration agenda, and whether oil companies can be sued over climate change. A follow up on that FlyDubai attempted hijacking last week. The hero pilot is speaking out about what happened inside of the cockpit and how the attack started. And we've also learned the identity of the suspected terrorist co-pilot.
