Hello, and welcome to the TMZ Podcast, the afternoon edition. I'm Eric Wilson.

Alexa Klone (0:42)

I'm Alexa Klone.

Eric Wilson (0:44)

The two best.

Alexa Klone (0:45)

Oh my God, I'm so excited to be here.

Eric Wilson (0:46)

I mean, you guys tuned in for a great episode here, okay? I mean, well, not the topics, obviously. They're a little serious topics here. But at least you have us to guide you through that. Hope you're having a great Wednesday. It's hump day. How's your day been?

Alexa Klone (0:57)

Did you start at court? I did. I started at court this morning, but nothing interesting happened.

Eric Wilson (1:02)

Oh, yeah. You were back pretty quick.

Alexa Klone (1:03)

Here I am.

Eric Wilson (1:04)

But now we're here to report. So the biggest case right now this week, obviously, is this Cornell rape incident. And we got some more details throughout today.

We did some digging into the past, and we have some more details. Alexa's been working this case nonstop. Do you want to fill us in where we're at?

Alexa Klone (1:21)

Yeah, I think the biggest thing right now is all about the Jane Doe, who, back in 2024, accused seven fraternity brothers of rape, gang rape.

Eric Wilson (1:34)

What's our limitations here?

Alexa Klone (1:35)

I don't know if we can say that. Okay. Of sexual assault, basically. And there's pretty gruesome details. And now the DA has opened the investigation back up again because the DA is claiming now that her initial report to the police completely different than what she's saying now.

But then, just late last night, CBS News in New York obtained the transcript of what she said to police. And it does clearly state, she says, I can say with 100% confidence, I was raped, which is something that the DA, even when CBS was interviewing the DA, they read this line to him and he was like, wait, what? I have never heard that.

Eric Wilson (2:15)

How does that get omitted from a transcript? How does that be overlooked even if it wasn't omitted?

Alexa Klone (2:21)

That's the headline. Harvey literally said that on TMZ Live today. How do you not include that line? Because basically what happened is Cornell University Police interviewed her in 2024, gave the DA whatever summary of her claims, and it had nothing to do with rape. The entire summary seemed like it was consensual, the sex, the drugs that she was taking, that ketamine. And so the DA was like, okay, well, this sounds consensual. We're not pursuing any charges. But now the DA is like, wait, wait, Cornell police never said anything about her saying that she was raped.

Eric Wilson (2:55)

So Van Houten, the district attorney, told CBS, if she had said those words, we certainly would want to have explored that more. Like I said, that wasn't provided to me.

Alexa Klone (3:06)

Which is wild, because then we also went back out to Cornell, and we asked them, and we said, did you guys give the full transcript to the DA? And they said, yep, everything. And we followed up, and we said, okay, this exact quote, the I can say with 100% confidence I was raped, that was included, ghost. They have not gone back.

Eric Wilson (3:22)

Well, he's saying, Van Houten's also saying he never saw the full transcript of Jane Doe's interview. He said he only received the results of the investigation, which the investigation was about being raped.

How is a line of her admitting that she was raped, not in that?

Alexa Klone (3:39)

It's pretty insane. In fact, the DA has never even spoken with her up until they plan on speaking with her this week, in two years.

Eric Wilson (3:48)

And the DA, or I guess campus police reported that she said, the encounter with fraternity members was voluntary, conscious, and consensual.

Alexa Klone (3:58)

Which is wild, because even...

Eric Wilson (4:00)

Contradictory, another C, for this whole thing.

Alexa Klone (4:02)

Yeah, because the DA did release the summary that they were given, and honestly, when I read it, I was like, this sounds very consensual, but then it seems like there were some bits that were edited out. It's seeming like a little bit of a cover up.

Eric Wilson (4:17)

That's my next question. Do we think that it's a cover up because the police, have we found any connection between any of the campus police or ethical police with any of the members of Fraternity?
