Welcome to The TMZ Podcast. Deven here with Courtney.

Courtney (1:10)

I got excited. I overstepped you.

Deven (1:12)

Oh, were you excited? Oh, to say hello? Yeah. Oh, okay. It's good to see you.

Courtney (1:16)

You too.

Deven (1:18)

A lot of news going on.

Courtney (1:19)

A lot of political news.

Deven (1:21)

Political news, AI news.

Courtney (1:23)

Some of my least favorite things.

Deven (1:25)

Yeah, me too. But people are into it, and they're obviously a huge deal.

So we'll talk first about, Trump is banning journalists from the White House, which is crazy. And a judge has ruled, and apparently the journalists are still not giving, being given their press passes.

Courtney (1:44)

So messed up.

Deven (1:45)

So yeah, we'll talk about that, and also get into my favorite topic, open AI, and how their AI apparently is trying to hack government agencies and universities. So I don't know if AI is just like, my brain only has a certain capacity of stuff that I can focus on, on a daily.

Courtney (2:08)

Yeah, I get that.

Deven (2:09)

And AI is just nowhere near the top of the list.

Courtney (2:12)

No, I'm in Taylor Swift lane. I was hoping one of these topics would be her new music video, a little teaser. Tony's just hurting my heart.

Deven (2:18)

And I was hoping to talk about the Greg Popovich story, which is wild.

SPEAKER_6 (2:21)

Me too, the Greg Popovich story is awesome.

Deven (2:22)

We might talk about that at the end. If we don't, it's on the website. Kind of a crazy story. Anyway, let's get to Tony.

Courtney (2:29)

We love you, Tony, though.

Deven (2:30)

Yeah, Tony, you're the best producer in the game.

So just a little background. So this federal judge ruled in favor of CNN, MSNOW. I'm not sure. What is MSNOW? Oh, MSNBC. OK. And then Politico.

Courtney (2:43)

Oh, boy.

Deven (2:44)

In their lawsuit against the Trump administration. So they were suing because they've been removed from the White House and had their press credentials revoked.

Courtney (2:52)

Because Trump didn't like how they were reporting on them.

Deven (2:55)

Which is, it's like, dude, that's the whole point of having a press, is like freedom of press. Yes. The White House should be open to any journalist who wants to report on it. Not according to Trump. And wants to, you know, obtain the right press credential.

Courtney (3:10)

Yeah. He said it wasn't like a right, it was like a privilege.

Deven (3:13)

Well, it is a right, though. Journalism in this country is a right.

Courtney (3:17)

Yes.

SPEAKER_6 (3:18)

Freedom of speech, freedom of... Yeah.

Deven (3:19)

So the judge, Timothy J. Kelly, ruled that the reporter's credentials were revoked without constitutionally adequate due process. So if I understand it correctly, there's like a temporary restraining order put in place, and there is gonna be a hearing about this. But for now, while this all gets settled in the courts, they should be allowed to do their job and be journalists.

Courtney (3:41)

Well, I really liked it when this all came out, that Trump was taking away their right to report in the White House. Fox News, CNN, all these other news outlets, we're not using any sound that's coming from the White House. And so even when you would go to do something, there would be no sound on it, you wouldn't hear them.

SPEAKER_6 (3:59)

Why?

Courtney (3:59)

Because they're all standing together.

SPEAKER_6 (4:02)

Oh, so Fox News, oh wow, that's shocking.

Courtney (4:04)

I think it's like huge that they all like, no.

Deven (4:06)

I thought you were about to say Fox News was like dancing on their graves.
