I was reading this thing the other day about how hyper-intelligent people are always chasing calm and serenity. And folks, that's, I guess, great advice for hyper-intelligent people who want an easy life. But I don't want an easy life.
I don't. I don't enjoy pain and anxiety or anything like that. But sometimes that suffering pain and anxiety is necessary for a larger end game.
It reminds me of, some of you have heard this before from me, but one of my favorite quotes from the book, The Natural, you know, it was made into a movie, Robert Redford about the baseball player. Many of you have seen the movie. And I think there's a version of this in the movie as well. I don't remember. But the book, I was at Malamud who wrote the book. You know, we all have two lives, the one we learn from and then the one we live after that. But the true path to happiness is through suffering.
I don't want to be dramatic about it, but do me a favor as members of this growing army of listeners out there, don't chase calm. I know it's easy to kind of sit back and let a lot of these things happen because, you know, I don't want to inject myself into it. Don't do that. This is not the time for that. I know many of you are out there and are warriors in this fight, so don't take this as some kind of, you know, oh, look what I have. That's not what I mean at all. But the impulse is there. I had a long conversation with Jasmine about this this morning. Don't chase calm in your life when it comes to fighting for what you believe in.
For this team, this agenda, this ideology, conservatism, this Make America Great Again movement. You chase calm. You're just going to find yourself on the losing end of a propaganda or adjunct prop battle I described yesterday. And it's not going to end well for any of us. We need everyone in the fight. You're the warriors we've been waiting for. As Ginny Thomas used to tell me, you, you're it. Don't wait for someone else. You're it. Do not chase calm no matter what.
