Chicago Mayor Responds to Repeat Offender Attacks… It Backfires

We have all these deranged black people run around Chicago, and the Chicago mayor said, it's Trump's fault. Check this out.

Joe Erica, neighbors here in Lakeview are asking for some sort of accountability, a solution to what they say is an ongoing problem here in this neighborhood. They're talking about two people that we're told are attacking strangers, though to the people that live here, they're not strangers at all, to them, to the police, or to the court system. Jenna Klotz shared her experience with Leon Jackson.

I was simply just walking home from the gym one day, just in the middle of the afternoon, and just happened to have passed him on the street. We had no engagement between each other. I'd never had any words with him before, never spoken to him at all, and out of nowhere, he just reached over and hit me in the head.

Within moments, she says neighbors named him, posted a photo of him.

The biggest concern is just the pattern of violence.

The pattern of behavior is traceable online. Stories shared on this growing change.org petition talking about not just Leon Jackson, but also Willie Wright.

These two men that have been terrorizing our beautiful community here in Lakeview.

Though their histories are not identical, neighbors identify them both as people who need help. Leon Jackson was seen going into a smoke shop after the attack on Klotz. He was later charged with battery, a misdemeanor, sentenced to 250 days in the Cook County Department of Corrections. And Klotz says she saw him back on the street in March.

Put yourself in that white woman's shoes. You walking down the street, buying your business, some black psychopath comes up to you, knocks you across the face, upside the head. Couple hundred days later, here comes Leon walking down the same street with you again. He don't need no help. He needs a jail cell.

Before court records reveal he was arrested for throwing a rock at people, and later for punching someone else.

Now he's out throwing rocks and attacking other people.
You know why he's not in jail? Because he's black.

Willie Wright is a convicted felon who also has a history of pushing, punching victims on the street.

Neighbors still see him around. He sees no pending cases. He was released from custody after pleading guilty and serving time for felony battery to a police officer last year.

So this dude is attacking police officers, and he's still roaming the streets?

Points to some of the comments, quote, my friend was physically assaulted by this man. She quit her job and moved out of the city.

Wow, that's crazy. That's crazy. So she, these people getting that ass beat. Couple weeks later, these people coming back to beat their ass again. So you know what? I'll just move out of the neighborhood.

When it happens repeatedly, the question becomes, what do we do then to have this, you know, not continue to happen? What do we do to ensure like residents can safely walk through their neighborhood without fear? And right now, I don't have the answer, but I know that this continues to happen. So what we're doing right now is not working.
And so we need something to change.

It gets worse. Brandon Johnson, the mayor, he's blaming all this on front. This is nuts.

Mayor Johnson, last week, I sat in this very seat and I warned you that Juneteenth is historically one of the most violent days for whatever reason in the city of Chicago. You dismissed that. You, I asked you if Donald Trump, the President of the United States, if you would reach out to him for some kind of help or assistance. Again, you dismissed that. You said that you're the mayor, right?
You said that Donald Trump was a massive failure or something to that effect. And now we have seen the results. 40 plus people shot, a dozen plus people murdered in the city of Chicago on Juneteenth, the weekend with the Obama Library and all the other wonderful things happening. Perhaps you're the massive failure in this equation and not the president who, by the way, has reached out again, again.
