With summer almost here, so many of us are thinking about family travel, getting away for a bit, but you also want to make sure, given how expensive things are, that you are budgeting accordingly. One way to get your finances organized ahead of this busy season, and frankly, all year round is with the Monarch Money app. Monarch is a personal finance app that tracks everything, accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending. You can get your first year of Monarch Core for half off, just $50, with the promo code MoNews. What I like about Monarch, we've been using this for a while in my house, it keeps everything in one place. You're not bouncing between various financial apps. You can track your investments, you can track your banking, you can track your credit cards. It also has a weekly AI recap that's been very useful that flags spending spikes, shifts in net worth, and upcoming expenses before they sneak up on you. And that's probably the biggest thing for me and for so many of us is taking that mental load off. And that's something Monarch does. It feels less like reacting after money is gone and more like planning ahead. It's a real financial advisor in your pocket. So you can use the code MoNews at monarch.com to get your first year off of Monarch Core, half off at just $50.
Again, that's 50% off your first year at monarch.com with the code MoNews.

One thing we could all agree on, housing is expensive. I personally just went through the process of buying a new home and moving in, which is stressful enough. And that is where BILT comes in. BILT is the membership for where you live and it rewards you with points on every housing payment, whether you're renting or paying a mortgage. This actually started with rent and now BILT members can earn points on mortgage payments too.
So now every time you make a payment on your new home, you can earn points and then redeem them toward things like flights with partners like United or Hyatt, Lyft rides or purchases on amazon.com. Another part I didn't expect to use as much as I would is the neighborhood concierge. It helps with restaurant reservations, finding new spots nearby, even booking fitness classes, especially helpful when you're new to an area and still figuring things out. It's simple. Where you live can do a little more for you. Join the membership for where you live at joinbuilt.com/monews. That is joinbilt.com/monews.
Make sure to use our URL so they know we sent you. It is a more thoughtful way to approach your biggest monthly expense.

Hey everybody, it is Wednesday, June 3rd. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Mosheh Oinounou.

**Jill Wagner** (2:24)
And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you Just the Facts.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:27)
And where we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to, Jill. I don't know if you know this. I don't know if this is going to affect your plans, but today is Global Running Day, an international day to celebrate the sport of running. What were you planning to do to celebrate today?

**Jill Wagner** (2:43)
I wasn't aware of that, so I was not planning to run.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:47)
Jill, it's like the biggest holiday in the world. It's always apparently on the first Wednesday in June. Who knew?

**Jill Wagner** (2:53)
I guess before it gets super hot, at least here in the Northeast. Mosheh, speaking of hot, the NBA Finals kicks off tonight, the Knicks versus the Spurs. The first two games are in San Antonio, and then they head to New York City.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (3:07)
Yeah, and New Yorkers are getting ready, including, I think they painted the subway entrance over there by Madison Square Garden blue and orange, naturally. Knicks colors, also Rangers colors, also Mets colors, actually. It's a theme here in New York City, blue and orange.
This is a big deal because the Knicks are looking at winning their first NBA championship in 53 years. They last appeared in the finals, actually against these very San Antonio Spurs back in 1999, but that's when the Spurs won their first championship. They would go on to win four more over the last few years, but the Knicks fans desperate, desperate for their first big win since the seventies. And so we will be watching the series very closely. If we're nothing else, Jill, if this series goes on a while, you could see a NBA finals game on the same day as a World Cup match here in New York, and that will be a logistical nightmare for those of us who live in the city. And that's really what we talk about when it comes to sports. I mean, beyond like the teams that win, it's like, what does that mean for my traffic situation today in the city?
