From the Playboy Mansion to haunted locations all across America, Bridget Marquardt has had quite the journey. The Girls Next Door star is diving into the paranormal with her new YouTube series, Great American Ghost Hunt and the film Don't F with Ghosts. Bridget is joining us today to talk ghosts, her life inside the Playboy Mansion and the upcoming movie Playmates, which is already drawing criticism over how it may portray Hugh Hefner and the Playboy legacy. And Bridget Marquardt is here to give us her perspective on all of it. Welcome, Bridget.

Bridget Marquardt (0:40)

Thank you. Thanks for having me. It's been so long since I've been here.

SPEAKER_1 (0:44)

I know. Been a long time. I always think of you this time of year because I feel like you're the Halloween girl. I always think of you during this time. I know you like had your own Halloween costume line. At one point, you do all the fun ghost stuff. Of course, you think back to legendary Playboy Mansion Halloween party days, which of course you went to.

So I love that you're here during this time of year.

Bridget Marquardt (1:08)

Me too.

SPEAKER_1 (1:09)

And you have an exciting YouTube series called Great American Ghost Hunt, which is so perfect for you. You've always been fascinated with the paranormal.

Where did that fascination come from?

Bridget Marquardt (1:21)

It started when I was really young. I tell people, I think I was born spooky, only because I loved horror movies and ghost stories and just spooky stuff from a very young age, like before I should have even been interested or anything in that stuff. And when I was 12, I had a little bit of babysitting money. I would babysit my cousins or whatever. And I bought myself a Ouija board, and I was playing with it with my cousin, and my brother was sitting there, and we didn't know that many people had passed away.

Just my great grandfather. So we were reaching out to him, and I had been close to him, so it was moving, but I was accusing my cousin of moving it. She was accusing me of moving it. We got bored and put it away. And then a few days later, I had my very first paranormal experience that I recall anyway. I came home from school, and we lived out in the country, and I was home alone.

I came in the back door and sat down at the coffee table in the living room, and then I heard the back door fling open. And I thought, that's weird. I must not have closed it tight. So I got up, went in there, shut the door, didn't think anything of it, went and sat back down, and a few minutes later, I hear it fly open again.

SPEAKER_1 (2:31)

Oh.

Bridget Marquardt (2:32)

It's at the side of the house. And I thought, well, that's really weird. Something must be wrong with the door, the door knob, or it's not latching. So I go back over there, and I kind of look around out on the little patio thing and nobody's out there.

And I shut the door again, kind of check it, jiggle it a little bit. It seems fine. It seems like it's latched. I go back and sit back down, and I hear it fly open again. And this time, I'm scared. I get that cold rush.

My stomach dropped, and I was like, no, somebody's messing with me. So I got up and I walked tentatively back to the laundry room, and the door's wide open. I go look outside a little bit. I don't see anybody there, so I quick grab it and lock it. And then as I walked back out of the laundry room, down at the end of the hall, I saw my great-grandfather standing there.

SPEAKER_1 (3:15)

No, wait, standing there?

Bridget Marquardt (3:17)

And it's out of the corner of your eye. This happens to me before, too, or well, after this, but other times where it's just out of the corner of your eye and then you turn directly and it's gone. But it's like you know what you saw, but at the same time, it's not there now. So, and that has happened to me again since, even at the mansion.

And it wasn't just me, there was three of us that saw it.

SPEAKER_1 (3:40)

Saw him?

Bridget Marquardt (3:41)

No, this was a different thing. So we were in my bedroom.

It was my sister, my friend Stacey and I, we were sitting on my bed.

My sister and I had just gotten back from a long trip. We went to North Carolina to visit my brother. And on the way back, we stopped in Georgia to get my dog Wednesday. Oh, Wednesday. Yeah. And so this was her first night back at the mansion. And I was telling my friend Stacey all about our trip. And Wednesday was in like a sound asleep, in this little pen with all her stuff in it at the end of the bed. And my sister was all kind of mad at us and grumpy about us because we were talking and she just wants to go to bed after the day we just had. And all of a sudden, out of the corner of all of our eye, we saw a woman standing in the doorway that just leads to my closet and bathroom. And she had like-
