Hey, everybody, it is Monday, September 14th. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.
Jill Wagner (0:09)
And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.
Mosheh Oinounou (0:14)
And where we'd like to start your week by reading all the news and reading between the lines, so you don't have to. Jill, quick programming note, if you can't get enough of me, you can not.
Jill Wagner (0:22)
Who can get enough Moshe? Come on.
Mosheh Oinounou (0:26)
I will be doing double duty a few days this week. Our friends over at The Huddle, which is a podcast and daily YouTube show that's live on YouTube every morning at 830 a.m. Eastern. And the podcast is available afterwards, especially if you're into politics, you might be familiar with them. It's a weekday political morning show co-hosted by our good friend Rachel Bade, a journalist. And that's where she hosts Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine and former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer.
I will be filling in for Rachel as moderator of the program this morning and several other times this month. So you can check that out. So you'll get a little dose of politics here on this podcast, but it's an extra hour of politics for you hardcore folks out there. Again, you can stream it live on YouTube, 8:30 a.m. Eastern, or your favorite social media channel. And then it's available, The Huddle Podcast. You can check that out.

Mosheh, I hope it goes well, just not too well because I don't want you to go anywhere. Okay?
We have joked before, though, that this is what happens in this business. It's like you go on vacation or you go on maternity leave, whatever it is, you leave for a few days, someone else fills in and they're great. And all of a sudden you're like, so we're going to move you to a different show.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:39)
It's been great. It's been great. Unfortunately, as a former network producer, I've had conversations with hosts to that degree. Like, you know, you were entitled to that vacation, but this is how things have turned. But no worries, folks. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not leaving the Mo News podcast. You kidding me?
Jill Wagner (1:55)
It is your name, so.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:58)
Jill News sounds great.
Jill Wagner (2:01)
Don't tempt me. All right, let's get to the headlines here with some major AI news over the weekend. Several of the leaders of the largest AI companies in the world urged an immediate global slowdown in AI developments.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:16)
This was a remarkable weekend of news, Jill, if you woke up on Saturday and saw the dire warning by Anthropic's Dario Amadei. He talked about how a potential Internet takeover by rogue AI bots might be possible within months given the pace of the technology.
Jill Wagner (2:32)
Right. Now the CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and XAI, who have long been at odds, have actually found some common ground in calling for a slowdown, we think.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:43)
We'll break down what they're seeing right between the lines there. And then what Washington says it'll do depending on whether they have a D or an R after their name, including President Trump, who says the whole thing is being blown out of proportion.
Jill Wagner (2:55)
To Wisconsin, a sitting congressman and the Republican nominee for governor survived an emergency plane landing on a lake Saturday night by swimming to safety.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:06)
Remarkable story out of Wisconsin.
Jill Wagner (3:08)
To the economy, some new data shows inflation and the costs of everything is once again going up faster than Americans' paychecks are, what the numbers mean. To Saudi Arabia, Iranian-backed terror groups have been attacking key oil infrastructure. The Saudis responding Friday by shutting down their East-West oil pipeline.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:28)
That pipeline takes four to five million barrels a day across the country. What this could mean for gas prices.
Jill Wagner (3:34)
To France, nearly a year after Crown Jewels were stolen from the Louvre, another art heist. What's driving it and why even small town museums across the country are now getting hit.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:45)
Yeah, it's like Thomas Crown Affair every couple of weeks over there.
Jill Wagner (3:48)
Staying in France, Celine Dion is back, the music legend making an emotional comeback show in Paris on Saturday, launching her 16-show residency after battling stiff person syndrome.
Mosheh Oinounou (4:00)
An amazing set list, Jill. Celine came back strong.
Jill Wagner (4:04)
And Mosheh is on this day in history.
Mosheh Oinounou (4:06)
Jill, a birthday for your favorite breakfast sandwich. Are you eating one right now? Stay tuned.
