Welcome to the TMZ Podcast. Deven here with Courtney.

**Courtney** (0:35)
Hello.

**Deven** (0:35)
What's going on?

**Courtney** (0:36)
Oh, nothing. Monday.

**Deven** (0:37)
I'm struggling. Why? I had a wedding over the weekend, a lot of driving. Yeah, I'm tired.

**Courtney** (0:43)
Where at?

**Deven** (0:45)
San Luis Obispo is a beautiful place.

**Courtney** (0:46)
Oh, wow.

**Deven** (0:47)
Yeah.

**Courtney** (0:48)
I've never been. I want to go.

**Deven** (0:49)
Yeah, it was like a four hour drive home yesterday after a wedding was not ideal and then came home. And I'm also a father. So yeah.

**Courtney** (0:57)
Oh, you didn't bring the baby?

**SPEAKER_4** (0:58)
No.

**Deven** (0:59)
And so I did father duty. I'm tired, man.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:04)
All right. Let's get to these stories.

**Deven** (1:05)
Let's get to these stories, because they're actually good stories.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:08)
Yeah.

**Courtney** (1:09)
So you always have good stories.

**Deven** (1:11)
True. But I love No Pun. I guess because his name is also Love.

**Courtney** (1:17)
That one's fascinating.

**Deven** (1:18)
I mean, it has consumed my weekend.

**Courtney** (1:21)
That's amazing.

**Deven** (1:22)
It was like it was everyone at the wedding was talking about. Yes. OK, so just for the headlines, Aaliyah's family is involved in a lawsuit. And now her uncle is making some pretty big accusations against Aaliyah's cousin, which is his son. So we will get into all the family drama about that. My favorite story, Daejon Love, the not 49ers football player that was convincing women to invest money and up to what, $1.3 million is what he stole.
The videos and content that has come out from Daejon Love is hilarious, to say the least. And we actually spoke to a woman who was a, I guess she would have been a potential victim, but she actually never.

**Courtney** (2:13)
She had her wits about her.

**Deven** (2:14)
Yeah, she was on to Mr. Love, but she sent us over some of the videos he sent her, and it's some pretty good stuff. And then Ella Langley.

**Courtney** (2:24)
I love her.

**Deven** (2:25)
Oh, she's the best. Yeah. Her and Doja Cat, beef.

**Courtney** (2:29)
Doja Cat has beef with everyone.

**Deven** (2:30)
Did not see that one coming, but yeah, Doja Cat is kind of a troll, and I never know if she's being serious or not.

**Courtney** (2:36)
It's how she gets her name out there.

**Deven** (2:37)
Yeah, so they are going back and forth, kind of. Okay, so for Aaliyah, so I guess this lawsuit has been going on for quite some time between...

**Courtney** (2:46)
Aaliyah died back in 2001

**Deven** (2:48)
2001, in August, a plane crash. And so there's this lawsuit going on between her former manager, Barry Hankerson. Barry is Aaliyah's uncle, and Aaliyah's cousin, Jomo Hankerson, who now, I think the new update in the lawsuit is just now basically Barry, who is Aaliyah's uncle and longtime manager, is basically is saying that it was Jomo's responsibility to for that final trip.

**Courtney** (3:19)
Yeah, because he was paid to coordinate the travel to the Bahamas for the music video.

**Deven** (3:22)
So basically, he was he's kind of trying to say in a roundabout way that he's kind of blaming him for her.

**Courtney** (3:30)
Yeah, because he didn't handle the travel like coordination professionally. And like he failed in his responsibility to that.

**Deven** (3:36)
She ended up boarding this private plane that later crashed. I just looked it up. So I guess it ended up being determined that they were the the bags, the weight. There was too much weight in the plane, which is why it lost control on takeoff. And also, I guess that they found traces of cocaine and alcohol in the pilot system. So there was there's a lot of stuff that I don't necessarily think Jomo would have any idea that this was going to happen.

**Courtney** (4:03)
Or the weight of the plane, not responsible to like drug test or do whatever to the pilot. Like, no, that was out of everyone's hands.

**Deven** (4:09)
Yeah. And basically what Barry's saying in the lawsuit is that this could have been avoided if he followed through on what his task was to do. And I guess he's trying to say he should have been more thorough on what plane she got on and who they planned her travels through. But it's just like a really gross. I mean, it's always gross.
