Sal Di Stefano (2:17)

Odds are you're missing out on gains because you're not doing a strength training technique that was used for generations. Ones that strength athletes swore by, made them strong, made their muscles hard, developed incredible physiques. And for some reason, nobody does them except for high level strength athletes. Nobody does them and they're easy to do. You guys, you're missing out. If you don't use isometrics in your training, you are not building the muscle you could. You're not getting as strong as you could. And you're not getting the gains that you could. It's very easy to do as well. We're gonna talk about it right now. Isometrics, why you should do them.

Adam Schafer (2:53)

Do you think if we talk about this enough that we could shift the fitness culture to the point like we saw...

Justin Andrews (2:58)

To the point where you come up with an invention that helps you build it?

Adam Schafer (3:02)

Not that much.

Doug Egge (3:03)

Dang, dang.

Adam Schafer (3:05)

That's a lot of volume. I would just be impressed and happy with what we watched happen with the squatting.

Doug Egge (3:13)

Yeah, squatting and dead lifting.

Adam Schafer (3:15)

We all started at a time in the fitness space when the squat rack could go empty all day long. That is impossible in a gym now.

Doug Egge (3:24)

Not anymore.

Adam Schafer (3:25)

No way. There is no way a day goes by in a gym and that squat rack doesn't get used all day long.

Sal Di Stefano (3:33)

When I was managing gyms and I would dead lift, so I was 19, 20, so this is like 98, 1999, I'm not exaggerating. Every time I would dead lift, a member would stop me.

Adam Schafer (3:45)

Yeah, I think you're going to hurt yourself.

Sal Di Stefano (3:47)

What are you doing? You're going to hurt yourself. What is that? I'm like, this is a dead lift. A what? Nobody knew what they were.

Nobody did them. I agree. I would love to see people utilize isometrics. You guys, the data on them, it's one of the most studied forms of strength training. So it's like we don't have a lot of data to support it. We have a ton of data to support isometrics, and in some cases, in some ways, they're superior to other types of repetitions. In other words, you're literally missing out because you're not utilizing this incredible tool that can do things for you that traditional lifting kind of misses out on.
