The Beauty Brains

August 23, 2016

Send us Fan Mail I thought for sure we’d be back in the country by now but before we could board the plane Perry was detained by the police. I’m still not sure what’s going on but apparently it has something to do him getting robbed on the way back to the hotel.

Hi, this is Perry, and you're listening to The Beauty Brains for Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Hello, and welcome to The Beauty Brains. I am your host, Perry Romanowski, and with me, as always, my co-host, Randy Schuller. How's it going, Randy?

Randy Schuller (0:25)

Hey, Perry. Welcome to the show, everybody.

Perry Romanowski (0:29)

Yeah, it's a fabulous day today. I'm just eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Russians.

Randy Schuller (0:36)

Wait, wait, wait, wait. Have you heard something that I haven't? What's going on?

Perry Romanowski (0:41)

No, no, it turns out I was contacted through email. It's funny how you get contacted through email by people who you don't even know. So, and they were, they're doing a documentary about cosmetics for Russian TV.

And somehow they found out that I was an expert in cosmetics and the formulation of them. And so they arranged it to set up a, they're sending one of their film guys here to my place in Chicago, and we're going to do a little interview.

Randy Schuller (1:18)

I'm sorry. Russian TV is sending a film crew to your house to interview you.

Perry Romanowski (1:27)

Yeah, well, that's what they said. It seemed, it seems legit of it, right?

Randy Schuller (1:33)

No, it seems like a ploy to gain a foothold in Chicago. I think, I don't trust them.

Perry Romanowski (1:42)

They seem nice enough.

Randy Schuller (1:43)

Yeah, you're right. What could possibly go wrong?

Perry Romanowski (1:45)

Or exactly.

Randy Schuller (1:48)

Well, that's cool. That's cool. Congratulations.

Perry Romanowski (1:50)

Well, yeah, my wife is a little suspicious of it.

Randy Schuller (1:55)

Well, here's the tip. Just don't have the Russian camera guy clip his toenails, and I think she'll be fine.

Perry Romanowski (2:01)

All right. So we have a big show today, huh? We got our beauty science news show today, huh?

Randy Schuller (2:07)

We do, but we're going to kick things off. We're going to kick things off with a new game.

Perry Romanowski (2:11)

Oh, a new game, huh?

Randy Schuller (2:13)

Yeah, we'll give this a try.

Partly because I just feel bad. We kind of ended up with some of our other games, so we're going to just try something brand new today. I call this one Improbable Products.

Perry Romanowski (2:26)

All right.

Randy Schuller (2:27)

All right, now here's how this works.

Perry Romanowski (2:28)

I'm intrigued.

Randy Schuller (2:29)

I will describe three new beauty products.

Two are real products. One is made up, and you have to pick the fake one. Now this is, by the way, this is nothing at all like beauty science or bullsh**.

Perry Romanowski (2:42)

No, not even similar.

Randy Schuller (2:44)

Okay, are you game for this? No pun intended.

Perry Romanowski (2:47)

I am game. Does this get added to my statistics?

Randy Schuller (2:51)

No, that's the beauty. We're starting over.

Perry Romanowski (2:52)

All right, excellent.

Randy Schuller (2:54)

All right, so here's how this works. I'll describe each product for you. I'm not going to give you the real name, but I'll describe the product. All right, so here we go. Which of these is not an actual product that you can buy today? Number one, Old People Soap, a soap bar designed especially to neutralize the body odor produced by the elderly. It's a necessity for nursing homes.

Number two, Pig Perfume, a fragrance for dogs, which uses pig pheromones to curb excess barking. It's the safe muzzle-free alternative.

And number three, Eggshell Sunblock, a chemical-free lotion that uses crushed egg shells to block UV light for a sunburn-free egg experience.

Perry Romanowski (3:44)

Well, I have to say, since you did make one of these up, you've done an excellent job, because they were all very good.

Well, okay, so we got the old people soap, we get the Pig Perfume and Eggshell Sunblock. I could see the old people soap. It seems like a niche that a marketer would be willing to fill, and it seems like a plausible enough, so I think that one's properly real. The Pig Perfume for your, to keep your dog from doing something.

Randy Schuller (4:27)

From barking, right?

Perry Romanowski (4:28)

Yes, yes, I'm a little suspicious of that one.

And then the Eggshell Sunblock, because eggshells, I guess, you can make them tiny like titanium dioxide. They block the sun. You know what, I think you have a dog, and so you probably stumbled onto the Pig Perfume, so I think the fake one is going to be the Eggshell Sunblock.

Randy Schuller (4:58)

Eggshell Sunblock. All right, are you doing your little thing where Chance guesses as well?
