Well, hello everybody and welcome to Wired In. I'm Cabot Phillips. Coming to you live from Daily Wire HQ. I hope you all had a delightful weekend. On today's show, we're going to tell you about a massive terror attack that was reportedly thwarted this weekend, and how police are already letting the alleged terrorists out on bail. Some GOP voters are furious with the Trump administration after an exclusive Daily Wire report found that ICE agents had been told to stop detaining non-criminal illegal aliens. We'll tell you how the White House is now responding. Russian intelligence agents reportedly tried to carry out an assassination plot in Washington, DC. We're going to hear from famed CIA agent Mike Baker on that story and more. And of course, stick around for the end of the show. You guys have been asking that we bring back the show and tell portion. I've got one of my favorite pieces of colonial history here on set, but you can only see it if you're a Daily Wire member. Oh, that's called a pitch right there. I'm pitching. So go to dailywire.com/subscribe so you can join our live member Q&A at the end of the show. I always say watching Wired In without the live chat is like cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. It's heartbreaking, it's soul crushing.
When it comes down to it, it's pathetic.
Yes, I'm a bitter Cowboys fan. But my mood is turning around because I get to spend the next hour with you lovely people. So let's do this thing. Roll that graphic.
And just a reminder, Wired In is now streaming live at 4 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday. Get daily coverage of the news happening right now here, why it all matters and talk with experts who are actually in the story. Become a member and join the live chat at dailywire.com/subscribe.
All right, let's kick things off in Washington with our pal Tim Rice, Wired DC Bureau Chief and co-host of the District Club. Tim, I'm coming to your camera right now. Here we go. I'm looking at your camera, but it's not ready yet. It's almost ready. There it is. Patrick with the beautiful assist getting the rice and beans camera ready. How are we doing on this fine Monday, Tim?
Tim Rice (3:25)
I'm doing great, Cabot.
I'm stifling my laughter at your self-deprecating Cowboys comments. It's okay, buddy. It's going to be okay. One way or the other, you'll be fine.
Cabot Phillips (3:34)
Yeah, I'm thinking it's not going to be okay. My wife actually asked me, why do you pay money every month to take part in something that is just a humiliation ritual? It never brings you joy. And I don't know. I'm just a masochist. I'm not happy right now.
Republicans not too happy either in DC with the direction that things are going. I'm a pro newsman. You see the way I shifted that there.
Tim Rice (3:58)
That was a good, yeah, that was a great pivot.
Cabot Phillips (4:00)
We've seen a million bad polls. If you go through the polling averages right now for the Senate, for example, there are like nine different races. Republicans only ahead in one of them.
Not a lot of great news right now for the GOP. There was one particular metric that's getting a lot of attention. It looked at the average House district where Republicans are spending money right now and how that money is being spent. Typically, you're seeing money get spent in the closest races, where it's a one-point margin in the 2024 election. Right now, the average money is being spent in GOP plus six districts. So these are districts that the GOP held by six points in 2024 What does that tell us?
