Hello and welcome to Forever35, a podcast about the things we do to take care of ourselves. I'm Doree Shafrir.

Elise Hu (0:18)

And I'm Elise Hu, and we're just two friends who like to talk a lot about serums.

Doree Shafrir (0:22)

And this is a You Ask, We Answer episode where we get to all of your questions, comments, feedback, concerns, observations, thoughts, etc.

Elise Hu (0:34)

And it sounds like we have a lot. We have a lot of your concerns, thoughts, observations, questions.

Doree Shafrir (0:40)

Yeah, we had a lot of people write or call in about plantar fasciitis.

Elise Hu (0:45)

Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Doree Shafrir (0:46)

We also have a lot of great responses to the question about getting a drugstore moisturizer.

Elise Hu (0:53)

Oh, great.

Doree Shafrir (0:54)

So a lot of good responses.

Elise Hu (0:57)

You know what I want? I would like, this happens to me every once in a while, too. I would like to have kind of go-to drugstore brands for when I forget something and I'm in a different city.

So often, I like wound up in St. Louis or Reno. I'm just listing places where the volleyball tournaments are. Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Orlando, Minneapolis. And in any of those cities, you can get anything you forget, but I often only need a travel-sized or a drugstore moisturizer, or a travel-sized cleanser or whatever, because I just happened to have run out of my mini one that I packed with me, or I just forgot or fell out of my bag last time, whatever. So it would be good to make a list of drugstore go-to's for when I'm in a pinch, when we're all in a pinch. So I'm interested to hear what moisturizers have made your cuts as listeners.

Doree Shafrir (1:54)

I love that. Okay.

Elise Hu (1:58)

And a reminder for those of y'all who haven't sent in questions yet, we have Dr. Jenny Wong, dermatologist, dermatologist here in Los Angeles, and former Forever35 guest. She is coming back on the show to answer your skin and skin-related skin care, skin issue questions.

Doree Shafrir (2:21)

She's here for that.

Elise Hu (2:22)

And we'd love to hear your questions either in voice memo form, so we can play them for her, or you can just text or email them to our regular spots, forever35podcast.gmail.com, or our voicemail number 781-591-0390, 781-591-0390.

Doree Shafrir (2:42)

Yeah, we've gotten a lot of great questions so far, so keep them coming.

Elise Hu (2:46)

And of course, we want questions for us too.

Doree Shafrir (2:48)

Yeah.

Elise Hu (2:49)

So don't leave us out.

Doree Shafrir (2:50)

That goes without saying, yeah. Elise, we got a question for you that said, any Abe news and what's the status of the documentary? How can we support?

Elise Hu (3:04)

Oh, thanks for asking. Thanks for asking about Abe. Haven't seen Abe since the beginning of June. It's so sad. Like, Ava had this friend who is allergic to cats, and they were hanging out a couple of weeks ago, and the friend said, I can't come over because of the cat. Oh, no. And then Ava started crying. Ava just, like, really lost it, and she's like, I didn't expect when I was going to start crying about Abe, because it just hit her that, like, we're now without a cat, and we...

They have never known a time where there hasn't been a cat in this house. Like, since Ava was born, and then Isa, and then subsequently Luna, there have been cats, always two, usually, almost always two, until Caesar passed. So our cat Caesar, who had been with me for 16 years, he died in 2021, and after that, it was just Abe. And now this is the first time, like, we don't hear the sound of, like, soft paws patting around in the house. And I just can't... Because of the way that Abe disappeared, so for listeners who are just catching up, Abe, my cat, my beloved cat, since 2019, tuxedo cat, so handsome, so small, he's, like, 11 pounds, he suns himself in the backyard and has always been able to go back there in and out, and he's been safe the entire time that he's been with us in two different homes, like in another house that we lived in in Los Angeles, and then here since 2022, just one day disappeared. Like, one Friday, went out into the backyard, this cleaner saw him go into the backyard, and nobody has seen him since. We thought maybe some neighbors, some neighbors had called after we canvassed the entire neighborhood and put up signs, and some neighbors had called and said they spotted a black and white cat on a fence, and we went to that very fence 10 minutes later, saw nothing. There were neighbors who were sending in their ring camera footage of other black and white cats. They were not Abe. So Abe himself, I have not seen any photographic evidence or like live evidence of since that morning.
