What's up and welcome to Kinda Funny Games Daily for Thursday, October 8th, 2026 Of course, I'm your host, Tim Gettys. I'm joined today in person with Paris Lily. Paris, how are you doing?

Paris Lilly (1:16)

Good morning, Tim.

Tim Gettys (1:17)

I love this.

Paris Lilly (1:18)

I do. I'm always happy when I'm here.

Tim Gettys (1:20)

It's so good having you here. It's fun having you in the lab. It's fun being in the lab. Very rarely in here. So it's a nice little breath of fresh air. How's your week been in San Francisco?

Paris Lilly (1:29)

Oh, it's been great. It's been great. Yesterday, I went to the Microsoft Surface event for Nvidia RTX. Got to see all those new devices. Got to see the future of Windows and AI.

Tim Gettys (1:39)

Okay, fun, I guess. Anything you can say about anything worth talking about?

Paris Lilly (1:45)

Actually, yeah, everything. I'll just say from a gaming standpoint, they had Gears of War E-Day running on the RTX Spark. And I mean, that device on the Surface Ultra.

The Surface Laptop Ultra, let me make sure I get it correct.

It's a beast. It's an absolute beast. They had Gears of War E-Day running on that. Just ludicrous. It was above 60 frames. Everything on it was great. Both plugged in and on battery. No drop in performance or anything. But I think the biggest takeaway from it was the fact that we're really starting to see more of a push towards native ARM games.

Tim Gettys (2:17)

Yeah.

Paris Lilly (2:18)

So this is just kind of the beginning. What I saw for Gears E-Day was still running on emulation, but the whole point was they showed all these different games that they're going to start working with developers to natively get them onto ARM processors.

Tim Gettys (2:30)

So yeah, definitely going to be interesting. Everyone pay attention. Keep your eyes on all of that. If you're watching live, you could be part of the show by super chatting on youtube.com/kindafunnygames. We got some fun stories today. So if you have any thoughts or input, please super chat away. We couldn't do this without our producers on patreon.com/kindafunny. So thank you to Omega Buster, Delaney, the Psalm Twining, and Michael Paz of Vento. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report.

I don't hear you, Kev.

Paris Lilly (3:02)

There we go. We have six stories today.

Tim Gettys (3:08)

There we go. Story number one, Xbox introduces XP.

Our ambition at Xbox is to be the number one entertainment company in the world. Paris, we're gonna have to come back to that statement. This means growing our games into enduring franchises that entertain, inspire, and connect people across every generation and across the globe. That opportunity is why we're creating XP. As Asha shared in her email this morning, XP is a new Xbox division led by newly appointed president Kayleen Walters, spending film, television, consumer products, strategic partnerships, and live experiences. It brings together capabilities that have existed across various teams at Xbox for years and aligns them behind a shared mission, helping our franchises reach more people, create deeper connections with players and new fans, and unlock new opportunities for these fandoms to grow around the world. Great games remain at the center of these franchises and at the heart of Xbox. XP will partner with the best creative minds across our studios, along with trusted partners to build on that foundation and create more ways for people to experience the worlds they love. The formation of the XP division formalizes four investment areas. Xbox Pictures, bringing our worlds and characters to new audiences through film, television, and other forms of linear storytelling. Xbox Products, creating products that are authentic to the fandom, that allows fans to celebrate and express the franchises they love. Xbox Places, bringing communities together through live events, immersive experiences, attractions, broadcasts, and destinations. And Xbox Partnerships, working with creators, brands, and communities to help develop new experiences about sponsorships and brand partnerships. Nailed it with the XP name. The four Ps, the four XPs, they got that going on. Paris, where do you want to start?
