But recent scrutiny by lawmakers has revealed widespread abuse of the program. For example, hospitals, clinics, and their for-profit partners pocketed over $100 billion in profits from 340B medicine markups in 2024 alone, with no rules requiring that money be used to help patients afford medicine. Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith said, Tax-exempt hospital empires look less like hospitals and more like hedge funds, making stock investments, purchasing stadium naming rights, and even participating in political activism. It is captivating so much news this week. And there's of course been all kinds of revelations. He's going to bring to light a little bit of what the committee is thinking about exposing this week before it happens. So all of you are inside of all of that, which is terrific. We also have come to the reluctant conclusion that at least as far as we see it, if Republicans can draw breath and be normal, they ought to do okay in the elections. Now, that may be something that escapes our reach at some level. But if you have just a look under the hood of what's going on in the Democratic Party, boy, oh boy.

And it's all kind of led to this. And now the New York Times, the great lady, the paper of record for the Democratic establishment, has weighed in and they're not happy.
They have written, Inside the phone throwing drama at the troubled broke Democrat Party.

I'm going to just give you just a little flave and then we can jump off and react to all of this. The flave is, The Democrat Party is so short on cash that leaders at its headquarters have undertaken a new gambit to mask the severity of the problems, asking vendors not to send bills until after the midterm luncheon.
