Hammer and Nigel.
**Nigel** (0:01)
Can you believe these characters?
**SPEAKER_3** (0:02)
They're weird of us. So let's rock it!
**Hammer** (0:05)
During the campaign, a leaked audio from his campaign came out, Abdul El-Sayed, in which he was worried about commenting on the death of the Ayatollah because he didn't want to offend his supporters. Yeah, the world is in chaos, and this guy can't figure out what side of the ball he's on.
**SPEAKER_3** (0:21)
CNN Republican GOP commentator Scott Jennings on El-Sayed, which is a Democrat race. We all need to be paying attention to in Michigan because he could be one of the most 100 powerful people in the United States come the midterms. We don't know yet, but he was barely nominated as the Democrats, the guy that's running for the Democrats in Michigan for Senate.
**Nigel** (0:47)
It was close. Now, we were kind of making fun of this race the last couple of days because the options for the Democrats in the US. Senate race in Michigan were a radical socialist who campaigns with the guy that says, we deserved 9-11.
And the opponent was this woman who was like the female Chris Farley, who acted like Matt Foley, the motivational speaker, and she was awkward and weird. And the polling showed that El-Sayed was going to blow her doors off. Like, it was like a 98% chance of victory. Like, one of those deals where as soon as the polls are closed, you get a race has been called notification.
**SPEAKER_3** (1:31)
Right.
**Nigel** (1:31)
But that wasn't the case last night at all in Michigan. Female Farley put up a fight and it came down to this morning, Nigel. This morning wasn't until it became official and El-Sayed only beat her by about one, one and a half percent.
**SPEAKER_3** (1:51)
Yeah. And what does that say about the midterms and him going up against Republican Mike Rogers for again, that Senate seat in Michigan? I mean, what does this portend for the Democrat Socialists of America, even though he will say that El-Sayed would say, I'm not for the DSA.
I'm not a Socialist. I'm not a Communist. I'm just, you know, I'm just a guy that wants to, you know, Mike Rogers is only concerned about corporate interests. Right. What does that say? One percent, you said it yourself, one percent of the female Farley got got his vote instead of hers. And she's not the she's not the radical communist progressive.
**Nigel** (2:36)
I think this was the best case scenario for the Republicans last night, because I think the Republicans in Michigan, which in the past have been very blue, not even purple. Michigan's been blue. Right. Big Gretch is their governor. Look at who their senators are. Look at some of the pockets of like, you know, Islam, you know, supporters in Michigan, like Dearborn. It's very blue.
This was a gift to the Republicans because the fact that El-Sayed barely beat this train wreck of a candidate. It's not like Haley Stevens was this well-oiled machine and she outperformed. She was a dumpster fire. She was a national laughing stock. Everybody was sharing the video of her ridiculous speeches and body language where she realistically looked like Chris Farley doing Matt Foley, the motivational speaker.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:35)
She was channeling Matt Foley for sure.
**Nigel** (3:38)
We're going to stick it to him.
She almost pulled off the upset last night. So what does this tell us? This tells us that assuming the Republican Mike Rogers doesn't do anything incredibly stupid, shoot himself in the foot, say something stupid, he's got a real chance to steal and flip this Senate seat to the Republicans.
**SPEAKER_3** (4:05)
All he has to do is point out who El-Sayed's friends are, Abdul El-Sayed, who he's been hanging out with, who are his spokespeople, who are his endorsements, who is this guy?
**Nigel** (4:17)
Piker.
**SPEAKER_3** (4:18)
Is that his name?
**Hammer** (4:19)
Hassan Piker.
**SPEAKER_3** (4:20)
Who is this guy? And why should that name resonate? And why, you know, I mean, this is again important to all of us because this midterms is going to be huge and he could be one of the most 100 powerful people in the United States.
**Nigel** (4:36)
And it feels cliche to say that it comes down to voter turnout. But if the Republicans show up, if they show up, they can flip this seat because I feel like there's a lot of Democrats in Michigan, regular, traditional Democrats that are going to have a hard time voting for somebody that's got a campaign surrogate that says, I hope capitalists get murdered in the streets and America deserved 9-11 because that's what Hassan Piker has had to say.
