For the big ones, for the small ones, for the low and the high ones, the pacifists, the brave ones, for the optimists and the pessimists, those who value the inside, for those who are far away, those who don't see far away, and those who don't see near, for the introverts and the extroverts, for those who think and those who do, for those who showed us the way. DSPN, welcome to TJ with us, as he always is on a Monday, up bright and early.

Tony Johnson (1:44)

Even though it's Tuesday.

Martin (1:45)

God, it feels like a Monday, didn't it, Tane? It does. I actually said that to somebody in the kitchen. They think of me as well, but it just feels like, like I want to call it, but it feels like a Monday.

SPEAKER_1 (1:53)

Yeah, let's pretend it's Monday. Up very bright and early.

Martin (1:55)

A very manic Monday. Well, it was because the All Blacks presser was at 7.15 this morning. So we're up and hopefully you've watched that on the channel as well. And we did something different today. We just started talking while it was all getting set up. And then when the conference went live, we went live obviously, and then had a chat afterwards. And there's a lovely moment there where me and Jamie are just, sorry to bore you people, but we're just sitting there chatting away. And Dave Rennie walks in and comes over to say hello. And Jamie says, oh, we're actually live. And he goes, oh, sorry.

He walks off. But look, he's a really friendly guy. And we just wanted to show that to you, to let you know that when you're in New Zealand and you're working on these jobs, everyone gets to know each other a lot over a period of time, right? So you might be sitting there thinking you're asking hard questions, or you might have whatever is going on. But ultimately, there's a real human thing that happens at these things, isn't there? And we actually do see a lot of each other. And hopefully, you enjoyed that. We got a lot of issues and questions to discuss around that. Roundtable is tomorrow, of course.

And then I've got an editorial, a big sermon speech I'm gonna do for you later in the week. It's a league versus rugby kind of debate. I'll keep the powder dry on that, because I know you're probably rolling your eyes out.

Tony Johnson (3:06)

No, I'm not rolling my eyes.

Martin (3:07)

But look, when I switched the telly on over the weekend, Tony, before we get into this, people, and saw a full house crowd watching the Kiwiferns and the Kiwis play, and then a full crowd the next day in Christchurch, and I'm just the kind of weirdo that celebrates both these things.

Tony Johnson (3:20)

I'm exactly the same. I don't see the need for a rivalry between codes.

Martin (3:24)

No, I don't.

Tony Johnson (3:26)

So I never got the Ford V Holden thing. That's, you know, at Bathurst and that. But I mean, I just think, celebrate the fact that we have these great athletes who go out and they wear the national colours with pride, or their province and stuff. And to me, there's room for it all, especially at the moment. There was so much, the last 7 to 10 days, so much great sport. You think, you know, we've had the cricket, we've had the league, we've had obviously the rugby, the women's rugby, the NPC final, Heartland, all of those things. We had Formula One Grand Prix, the netball, playing brilliantly, and so much more. Just love it all. And I feel sorry for people who don't love sport.
