It's another episode of What's the Snark YouTuber edition. And I just have to say, you know, sometime when we covered these male YouTubers, some people are like, oh, we don't want to hear about it. They are some of our most juicy episodes, like genuinely, because they're so, these men are so problematic. I just have to say that up top, you know.

Yes. Thank you for saying that because I feel like, and I've said this before, when we did our Mr. Beast episode forever ago, so many people were like, we don't care about Mr. Beast. And it's like, okay, well, I do.

Exactly. Exactly. That's still one of my favorite episodes.
And not that I've ever been like a YouTube. Like you guys know, I feel like Christy and I, we've talked about, we kind of missed that YouTube craze in the 2000s, 2010s. I feel like maybe we were a little too, even though we were young at the time, I feel like, I don't know, I always felt like I was too old for YouTube. I don't know why. Me too. So what were your feelings? What are your feelings up top about Shane Dawson if you have any?

Honestly, I just know that he's friends with everybody. Like when we did our Tana Mongeau episode, I remember he was comforting her when the TanaCon thing blew up and it ended up being a fire festival before, or maybe I forgot if it was before or after fire festival. But he seems to be friends with all of these huge YouTubers, and I don't really know his work too much.
To be honest, why do I feel like him and Mr. Beast, I can't tell them apart physically.

I am only familiar with Shane Dawson from his scandals. I never followed his work or his YouTube content. But like you said, the YouTube community, he is friends with Jeffree Star, and he was involved in the James Charles drama Get In. Like he is very interconnected. I feel like the whole YouTube, all those YouTube OGs, Tana included, it's very like incestuous. Like it's really interesting, but he was definitely a pioneer on the YouTube front. And, but like I said, I really only became familiar with him because of his many, many, many scandals. So just a trigger warning up top that there is just about every offensive thing in the book that this man has done, including, you know, racism, blackface, rape jokes, just very problematic transphobic jokes, every single problematic thing you can think of. So this might not be for you if you want to tap out now.
Yeah, he is not a good guy, not a good guy. And I'm curious what your guys' relationship, if any, was with Shane Dawson, if you watched him on YouTube growing up, because he got his start pretty early on. And like I said, he was kind of like a pioneer and he was huge at one point. And I will say something that is very satisfying about Shane Dawson's career trajectory is that he really, his views have gone down so much. It's insane. He's lost like 90 percent of his viewership over the years. So the scandals that he has had have really, really, really had a tangible effect on his career. And I know we always joke that like, cancer culture isn't real and that so many, especially white men, can go about their lives and do whatever they want, and then they don't face any consequences really. He actually has had such a dramatic fall from grace, in my opinion.
