So, what's the difference between AppleCare Plus and AppleCare One? We'll find out in moments, but first. It's been delay after delay, but Tesla is finally committing to an official reveal date for its new and improved Roadster. In a post on X from the official Tesla account, the second-gen all-electric hypercar is expected to make its debut on October 10th. Despite Tesla's poor track record with previously promised dates, it's more likely this announcement will stick. In August, the information reported that Tesla would launch its Roadster soon, particularly with the ability to fly.
We're not sure how Tesla is going to deliver on this capability, but the company's website features a countdown to the Roadster reveal, which is teased by an image of what could hint at cold gas thrusters that are supposed to come with the SpaceX model that flies. While a flying car sounds nice, it could be about as impressive as the Cybertruck's Wade mode. Those waiting for the next Roadster model have been left in the dark since the prototype's initial reveal in 2017
At the time, Tesla said its updated electric sports car would go from to 60 miles per hour in less than 2 seconds, come with a top speed exceeding 250 miles per hour, and offer more than 600 miles of range. Back then, the base model Roadster started at $200,000, while a Founders Edition variant went for $250,000.
However, some of those who preferred the Roadster for $50,000, have already canceled their reservation, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee.
iPhones, Macs, and all of Apple's other products ship with a one-year limited warranty. If you want to extend that and make sure your devices are protected for a longer period, you'll need to get AppleCare. You have a couple of options under the AppleCare umbrella, though, and we're going to compare and examine them in this post. But to summarize, AppleCare Plus protects one device per plan, whereas an AppleCare One plan provides protection for multiple devices in one subscription. Should I get AppleCare Plus? If you only have one Apple device, AppleCare Plus is the more cost-effective option, despite its recent price hike. Different models have different pricing, with the top-of-the-line devices being the most expensive. AppleCare Plus for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, for instance, costs $14 or $140 a year, while it's only $10 a month or $100 a year for the iPhone 17e. A subscription gets you unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills, 24-7 priority support, and the ability to get your device serviced at any Apple Store or Apple authorized service providers in the world. However, its other benefits depend on what kind of device you own. You can get the batteries of devices like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks replaced for free once their battery health or their current maximum energy capacity hits 80%.
