**Seán** (0:00)
Am I tough enough?
**SPEAKER_2** (0:01)
Strong and stable leadership.
**Andy** (0:02)
Total ruba.
**Seán** (0:03)
Hell yes, I'm tough enough.
**Andy** (0:04)
Shut the fridge. Not another once.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:07)
It's the PoliticsJOE podcast.
**Seán** (0:10)
Love podcast, eight notes, this is the PoliticsJOE podcast, ladies and gentlemen. Andy12 is here.
**Andy** (0:17)
I am, I am, Sean Hickey's also here.
**Seán** (0:19)
Benjamin, can we, I can't remember if we've told everyone what we call Ben.
**Andy** (0:25)
I did it, I saw it on my TikTok and someone asked if I was anti-Semitic.
**Seán** (0:30)
I don't think it's anti-Semitic to just, I don't, two guys called Benjamin.
**Andy** (0:35)
Yeah.
**Seán** (0:36)
It's just two guys called Benjamin. We'll let you decide what we've been calling Ben this entire time, but he's outside at the moment. Mixing, I believe.
**Andy** (0:43)
Mixing, hopefully.
**Seán** (0:44)
He nearly threw that bloke off the, off the desk to try and get into the mixing. But here we are, new studio. We're going to be here for a while.
I forgot to bring the mic heads with me, so I beg your pardon, but you'll see in that corner there, that's still the PoliticsJOE Podcast.
**Andy** (1:01)
Yeah, even though we do look at that's a self financial advice and...
**Seán** (1:05)
Well, I was going to tell everybody how I've been getting on with my Huel. So I don't know about you, but I think this is quite the environment to do that in.
**Andy** (1:14)
No, it's actually really nice. It's AirCon as well, which is pretty good.
**Seán** (1:17)
Yeah, it's lovely and cool in here. We used to have to turn off the AirCon in, but it wasn't, no, we didn't, did we have it? I can't remember if we had it in the old one, but in the one prior to that, the one that had just the black backdrop, and then at one stage, the bookshelves, we had to turn off the AirCon anytime that we were recording because it was too loud and it was like right above where the desk was.
But now there's a gentle breeze in here. It's very gentle, which is needed this week, Andy, the heat wave that we're about to experience.
**Andy** (1:51)
Yeah, climate change. City Council London, man, he needs to, he really needs to do something. I was saying this to someone. Apparently, he tried to implement more shade in London a few years ago.
**Seán** (2:03)
Planting more trees, wasn't it?
**Andy** (2:04)
Yeah, but the Tories in City Hall blocked him from doing it, saying it was pervasive to the public good, which is pretty nuts.
**Seán** (2:12)
Pervasive to the public good?
**Andy** (2:14)
Yeah.
**Seán** (2:16)
That's interesting.
**Andy** (2:17)
Yeah.
**Seán** (2:18)
As in, like, avoiding public good.
**Andy** (2:20)
It would be anti the public good, I believe. Because if you're planting trees, it would rip up roads.
**Seán** (2:25)
What's the one that they... Yeah, that's true. That's true. I do love seeing that in the concrete when a tree has, like, breached the boundaries of the cage that man has put it in.
**Andy** (2:36)
I don't like seeing it, because typically when I see it, it's as I go over it on my bicycle, which isn't that cool.
**Seán** (2:42)
You have to share this planet with the tree. The tree will be here long after you're here as well, Andy.
**Andy** (2:47)
Not if I've got anything to do.
**Seán** (2:48)
I think it's beautiful. It's no matter how much man tries to put his print on this planet.
Nature will still find its way.
**Andy** (2:58)
Do you know who is trying to put the print on this planet?
**Seán** (3:00)
Go on, tell me. Give me the segue of a lifetime.
**Andy** (3:03)
Mr. Andy Burnham, the member of parliament for Makerfield. He's going to be prime minister in two weeks time.
**Seán** (3:12)
Is there any medieval rule that could stop him being the prime minister? Could you go into parliament on the day that he's ordained? No, because it's going to go to a vote for the Labour members first, isn't it?
**Andy** (3:26)
Well, the PLP, not the Labour membership.
**Seán** (3:29)
Well, yeah, if it's just a one man, one horse race, then nothing's going to happen. Because you do have to be an MP to be the leader of the Labour party.
**Andy** (3:36)
Yes, you do.
**Seán** (3:36)
Right.
**Andy** (3:37)
Well, I think it's actually parliamentarian and that's my work telephone. Let me just turn that off right now.
That's my girlfriend's fault because she genuinely believes that if you turn your ringer on, the alarm will be louder, which isn't true. But it just means that if you're off silent, the ringer is louder. Yeah.
