What Caleb Flynn's Daughters Said to Him After He Denied Killing Their Mother

Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary

October 6, 2026

Caleb Flynn stood before Judge Jeannine Pratt and told the court he did not kill his wife. Then his own daughters' statements were read. One told him he'd caused too much pain, that Ashley was the best thing that ever happened to him, and that she is never coming to see him. She signed her name.

And welcome to our special coverage today of the sentencing of Caleb Flynn. It is myself, Tony Brueski, with you for today's coverage. And all of you out there who are already watching us on the live stream, I certainly welcome you guys to drop your comments in there. We're going to try and get to them and really make this a dialogue and a conversation as we all sit together and watch the not only sentencing of Caleb Flynn in this case, but also the victim impact statements. If you're not familiar with what that is, that is where the family members, the people who have been impacted by this case, by the crimes of Caleb Flynn, to which he has now been convicted, read aloud or give a testimonial of sorts, if you will, directly to the perpetrator, the person who committed those crimes, which in this case obviously would be Caleb Flynn. If you're watching us on YouTube right now, you can see the courtroom is behind us. So we are waiting now for the convicted defendant, I guess you could say, to be entering the courtroom, at which case the judge will begin the proceedings. And in this case, I don't know, every state is always a little bit different when it comes to how they format a sentencing and victim impact statements. I've seen it where the victim impact statements come first. I've seen it where they come last. I've seen all different ways. We'll see how the judge handles it today. If you've not done so yet, and you are here, if you wouldn't mind, please do hit the like button so other folks know we are doing this live today. And then they can join in our conversations as well. I do appreciate that. Just grab that like button on YouTube or Facebook or wherever you're streaming us and hit it for us to further spread the word out there that we're gonna be watching this live. We have not seen a great deal of the courtroom as of yet. The camera panning around just a few minutes before we went on here live. It does look like a very full courtroom. From what we can see, it's gonna be mainly filled with the family members of Caleb's wife, Ashley Flynn, who are there to watch justice be served, as well as many of them, I'm sure, going to be delivering their statements today. We'll be fascinated to see. I'm curious, what do you guys think out there in the chat? Are we going to see this Caleb Flynn here today, the crying, the sobbing Caleb Flynn, or are we gonna see a more resolved narcissist now that the show is over? It's no one left to perform for. It's gonna be fascinating to see, because sometimes you have cases where we have a very, very animated person during the actual trial itself, which we did in this case. And then when it comes to the sentencing, a very stone-faced, a very, you know, you got the wrong person, or quite often what that is is nothing more than someone who knows they've been caught in the act. And why give any more? Why have to continue the act if they've already been found out? Narcissistic attitude, that's exactly right. I see here maybe in the comments.

Looking at, so I hope his nickname is Douche, and they put it on the back of his orange suits. Wouldn't that be a nice one? Inmate, you're the only inmate that doesn't get a number. You're literally just known as Inmate Douche the rest of your life. I think that'd be an appropriate, you know, punishment there, the judge. And by the way, your inmate number is now just hashtag Douche. That probably wouldn't work out too well for him in the long term. Not that it's going to work out well for him to begin with. A big piece of this trial was the mistress, Leah Botner, who was on the stand for nearly seven hours reading from 34 binders of text. We watched that for several days. Three cardboard boxes worth of messages and damning they were. Damning obviously not only for Caleb Flynn, but also Leah Botner as well, reputationally, without a doubt. But could it be more damaging than just a reputation at the end of the day? Could what was said in some of those text messages be grounds for a civil case, be grounds to push what one may argue if a case is filed to push Caleb over the edge or conspiring with him to carry out the crimes that he has now been convicted of committing? I don't know the answer to that question. Tomorrow morning on our live broadcast at 11 a.m. Central, Bob Mata, defense attorney from Defense Diaries, will be with us. And we're going to tackle that. We're going to dive into that very question because I think it's a fair one to ask, especially when you just look at the whole of all of the behavior to which Aaliyah participated in and he participated in. You take any one here and there, one little nugget, and you go, well, you know, people say things. But we're hundreds and hundreds of texts of talking about. A mother, a wife, another member of their church. And I guess in the language that they speak, another one of God's children off of the face of the planet, because you know, she's a douche. The dehumanizing behavior that these two were able to murk their way through while still getting up on Sunday morning to sing the praises of the Lord is really spellbinding. It is. Another piece that I saw over the weekend. I can't confirm this. I didn't, I was just trying to take a break for a moment. And I didn't dig any deeper, but I do believe there was even a performance from what I understand by, again, I could be wrong on this. If it's true, I'm even more horrified by it. It would not surprise me. A musical performance at the service for Ashley by the mistress. Was that, I don't know if that's true or not.
