John Ashbrook (0:00)

Now, more than ever, people are getting all kinds of information thrown at them every single day. It's hard to sift through and understand what's real and what's not. And that's why I think this fourth show is so important.

Josh Holmes (0:12)

We're just going to give you the straight facts.

Comfortably Smug (0:14)

You're going to see, I mean, unbelievable amounts of money being spent to fight in these races.

Michael Duncan (0:20)

All of these polls are predicated on what the pollster anticipates the turnout is actually going to be.

John Ashbrook (0:26)

And good campaigns and the good candidates will see this environmental deficit and they will do everything in there, everything possible to overcome it.

Michael Duncan (0:36)

An environment like this really separates the weed from the chaff.

The midterm elections are here. And if DSA Democrats win, they'll push a radical socialist agenda and drown President Trump in endless investigations. We've seen their playbook before. They tried impeaching him. They tried putting him in prison. They've tried everything. Don't let them win.

Because if we lose, they'll undo everything our movement has fought for. I need you to vote early. You can bank your vote and fight back against the left's turnout machine. Go to gopvotes.org right now and find out when you can vote. Making your voice heard is easier than ever. You can get election reminders, look up your polling location, and pick a date to vote early. Go to gopvotes.org today.

SPEAKER_6 (2:08)

The Ruthless Podcast.

Josh Holmes (2:11)

Well, it's hump day here on the Ruthless Variety Program. Our hope is that we will help you ascertain who's doing the humping here over the next hour in our very special fourth episode of the week. We're going to focus in on politics. We do have Ted Cruz in the lineup today, but we've got a whole bunch of stuff we want to break down. I'm Josh Holmes, along with Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook, left to right across your radio dial, as always.

Let's just jump right into it, fellas, because, you know, look, we've seen a lot of elections. We've been a part of a lot of elections just by way of background. We have been involved in many elections. House, Senate, over the years, Midterms galore, seeing things break our way, things break against. I've been a part of an awful lot of campaigns over the years and had to make some difficult decisions along the way and what they call triaging, which is the difference between your ambitions when the cycle starts and where you end up having to win, where you can win at the end, and focus resources and all of that kind of thing. And I think as you, as the listener, will take in what we have to offer you between now and the November election, you'll help bring alive a little bit of some of the numbers that you're seeing and some of the just junk that you're seeing. Because everybody's got a hot take. Most people have never done this for a living.

Michael Duncan (3:46)

Isn't that fair?

John Ashbrook (3:47)

That's exactly right. That's why we started the show.

Michael Duncan (3:49)

Right.

Josh Holmes (3:49)

Yeah. I mean, there's just certain things that you see when you've done this as a line of work that you're not going to get everywhere.

John Ashbrook (3:58)

Now more than ever, people are getting all kinds of information thrown at them every single day. If you're dialed into X or other places on social media, you're seeing polls. Some of these polls are absolutely fake. It's like a social experiment to see people retweet the polls. I mean, this is actually happened.

Comfortably Smug (4:14)

That actually happened, yeah.

John Ashbrook (4:16)

And so it's hard to sift through and understand what's real and what's not. And that's why I think this fourth show is so important.

Josh Holmes (4:23)
