We’re About to Need Way More AI Compute Than Anyone Realizes
Milk Road Stocks
September 8, 2026
In this episode, we break down why the rapid adoption of AI agents could drive significantly more demand for compute, inference, memory, data centers, and the broader AI infrastructure stack.

On one side, everything coming out of AI continue to tell us like the demand got stronger. But on the macro side is where we're starting to see problems.

What's up everybody, it's LGDU Set here, and welcome to Milk Road Stocks, a daily market show that still can't figure out if slow September means a cool down of the market or just that I've been held back in grade six yet again. Today is September 8th, 2026, recording on September 7th. Which way Western market? The macro looks pretty uncertain right now, but the fundamentals are strong in AI, showing a proof of concept people have been desperately waiting for. In this week's episode, our three top stock analysts give their vibes on the market before diving into the AI agent explosion that's getting hotter every day. Then they spent a big chunk of the episode talking about robotaxes as we have both Uber and Tesla bulls in the arena to talk about who comes out on top. This week's episode of the roll-up is a little different. It's a day earlier than usual, and instead of Vincent, we have Martin, who invests both in AI, crypto and even software sometimes at Milk Road. I also had to skip this one because it was Labor Day and I had other things to do, like hanging out with my family and do some work in the yard. But it's very interesting. Make sure you listen because at the start, Martin talks about how he sold 10% of his portfolio already because of the macro uncertainty. If you want to hear their actual moves, we've started a new series just for PRO members called After Hours, where after these shows, these guys spend an extra 10 minutes discussing their portfolios, showing the screen, talk about their moves that they're actually going to make. So you can check that out for just a dollar at the link below in Milk Road PRO. And a reminder that our podcast today is free and that it wouldn't be possible without our partners at Sabre.Money, the stable coin payments platform built for Asia. Keep an ear out for more information about them later in the show.
Kyle (1:33)
Gentlemen, we got a new line up today. No LG, no Vincent. And we brought in Martin, who's actually going to be here, I think every week moving forward. And so this is the crew plus Vincent in coming weeks. But Labor Day, we're recording on Labor Day. So markets are not open. But let's hear you guys thoughts on the markets anyway. Martin, let's start with you.
What do you think is going on in the world of markets right now?
Martin (2:01)
You mean AI or like markets generally?
Kyle (2:04)
Just generally, how are you feeling about the markets? What are you thinking?
Martin (2:07)
I sold some positions because I'm starting to feel a little worried. And my cash positions were just so, so small that I didn't feel comfortable with all the macro uncertainty, you know, odds of raising heights spiking again. And like just in general, the markets are at all time highs.
And I don't think that's the moment when you want to be all in. So I kind of sold 10% of my portfolio. I want to have more cash when the correction or whatever is gonna happen next. But like in general, I think right now we are going through just a small correction in AI trade. But I don't see a reason why this whole AI trade should stop. And like, you know, there are still pretty interesting opportunities, I think. And the current valuations are like, the AI trade is, you know, gone. But I don't think that's the case. Obviously, there are some players that they might not do that well. But I think we are on the lookout for the ones that they do. So yeah, I remain bullish overall.
Kyle (3:20)
Maine's bullish but sold 10% of his portfolio. All right.
Melvin (3:25)
Yeah, it's definitely a bullish sign.
Anyways, happy Labor Day, everyone. I thought, you know, we were supposed to get a day off, but there we are.
But so obviously, the casino is closed today, and the week just got started. So let's talk about what happened last week. Last week, I feel like we got a lot of interesting news. On one side, everything coming out of AI continued to tell us the demand got stronger. We had Dell earnings, absolutely ridiculous AI server growth. Broadcom had their earnings too, which told us that custom AI chip revenue could double and then double again.
Snowflake had their earnings too. I think they jumped up 23%, basically telling us that there's acceleration in software usage across their company. Then on top of that, we had a bunch of model releases. We had started with Google, released their Gemini 3.8 Flash model, Meta releasing their Muse Spark 1.3, I believe.
