Alright, so we got some exciting news tonight in New York Hockey.

Semyon Varlamov is making a comeback, starting for the Islanders at 38 years old. This is his first NHL game in two years after undergoing two partial knee replacements. Jean-Gabriel Pageau was hyped about it during the morning skate, talking about the vibe Varlamov gives off. He mentioned that everyone feels this commitment and determination from Varlamov, which is pretty awesome to see.

It's like a feel-good moment in sports, for sure. Now, this matchup is special since it's the first rivalry game of the season between the Islanders and Rangers. The Rangers are coming in hot with a solid record at three wins and one loss, while the Islanders have just played twice and sit at one win, one loss. Varlamov's return is definitely one of those stories that pull at the heartstrings. It's rare to see someone bounce back from such major injuries, especially at this level. You can feel the energy in the arena tonight. So, it's game time. This should be a thrilling matchup, and Varlamov's comeback adds a whole new layer to it. Let's see how it all plays out.
