Oh, hi.
Sorin Posescu (0:01)
My name is Sorin Posescu. I'm the CEO of Valhalla Metals. Valhalla is a copper-focused exploration company advancing to high-quality, high-grade copper assets in Alaska and in the USA.
SPEAKER_1 (0:15)
So, good to have you on the platform of the show. It's the first time the story has been on the show, the first time you've been on the show. Maybe you give people a little bit of background on yourself. Where have you been? What have you done?
Sorin Posescu (0:24)
Yeah, of course. I'm a geologist by training.
Prior to joining Valhalla, I was a BPA exploration for Junior Explorer Out of Vancouver, Canada, Brickstone Metals, and prior to that, I worked on a number of very interesting resource development companies, among others, Novoibold.
SPEAKER_1 (0:44)
Okay, Novoibold. Okay. Well, let's start with what you're trying to do.
What is the story? What are you? A resource growth story?
Sorin Posescu (0:53)
That's right. Exactly. So, we have two high-quality, high-grade VMS assets, dedicated, as I mentioned, in Alaska, in the Ambler Mining District, one of which, the Sun Project, has a 42-1-1 resource extract, and the second asset, the Smucker Project, has a historic resource. These two assets bookend the Ambler VMS wealth, a very prolific, copper-rich wealth that's been explored for decades by various mining companies.
It's made a strain over time, was in geology, great geology, but it was infrastructure. Now, the federal government approved the road called the Ambler Road back in October 2025 So that road connects the district to Darten Highway to the east. So the infrastructure constraint is being addressed as we speak.
SPEAKER_1 (1:57)
Okay. So you've got Sun and you've got Smucker, right?
Can we start with Sun? Just in terms of the resource that you've got there at the moment, can you give me a sense of the size of that grays that we're talking about? And maybe tell us what you've been doing. We're going to get into the recent training, but what historic data do you have on this?
Sorin Posescu (2:19)
Lots of data. There's been over 100 drill holes drilled on the property over 20,000 years. So there's a 43.1.1 resource list to it.
High grade, 1.7 million tiles indicated at 4.2% carbon equivalent and about 9 million tiles, similar grade, 4.2% carbon input. So great, great upside. The resource is still open on multiple directions. And for us, the goal is to double this resource by drilling down deep and off striking.
We drilled the first holes back in 2023 And this year we went back and did more drilling. We just finished a drilling program and expect assets in the upcoming weeks.
SPEAKER_1 (3:15)
Okay, so the historic resource is from 2021?
Sorin Posescu (3:20)
2022, yeah, it's from 2022
SPEAKER_1 (3:22)
Okay, and then some drilling in 2023 and you haven't been back to it since. Why the delay?
Sorin Posescu (3:29)
Tiring. When we took Valhalla public back at the end of 2022, we had the permits in place for the road, that were granted under the previous top of the administration. Then what followed by the administration decided to cancel the permits. So we decided to put the company on hold until we knew if there's going to be a road. Obviously, there's no road, there's no new project, obviously. We need a road.
So we put the company on hold for a couple of years.
Sure enough, the permits were reinstated last year, in October, by the Trump administration. So obviously, we're off the races now.
SPEAKER_1 (4:14)
Okay. Okay. So back in and out of all hell, President Trump, for sure, for mining anyway.
In terms of the historic journey, I didn't catch it. How many holes did you do in 2023 versus what you started in July this year? How many are you going to add?
Sorin Posescu (4:33)
We didn't do a lot in 2023 That was our start here in terms of journey.
The primary goal was to get the main cap set up. So we built a brand new cap to support the exploration activities for the project. So that's 24 main cap. So that was something that we had to do.
We re-logged some old port to pin up. We have a number of companies, a number of geologists logged in for over time. You need to have that consistency over time. So we got into the geology part of things just to make sure that we streamlined everything from a geological standpoint and drilled four holes. But those holes, we ran out of season because we started late. But those four holes, here's some amazing mineralization. You can see the grades on our website, 20 meters of almost 7% carbon governance. So those are significant grades.
