SPEAKER_1 (0:02)

This is a HeadGum Podcast.

Tim Platt (0:05)

I'm tired of this dull reality where cars drive around and buses continue to drive around after the cars, and the birds are just normal birds. Where can I stick my ears into some fantasy?

Branson Reese (0:16)

I don't know, Tim, but it sounds like you mostly have a problem with traffic.

Tim Platt (0:19)

That's the most real thing there is.

Branson Reese (0:21)

Traffic?

Carly Monardo (0:23)

Well, the talks for concrete...

Branson Reese (0:25)

This segway bores me. Let's talk about Hello from the Magic Tavern.

Tim Platt (0:29)

Wait, that sounds like exactly the thing I could use to get out of my doldrums.

Joseph Lepore (0:33)

Wait, are you guys talking about Hello from the Magic Tavern, the hit podcast?

Branson Reese (0:36)

Trying to, but Tim's hell bent on talking about weird traffic stuff.

Joseph Lepore (0:40)

Oh, Tim, shut up about traffic for a second and prepare for an adventure in the magical, fantastical land of Foon with the award-winning improvised comedy podcast Hello from the Magic Tavern, now in its sixth season.

Tim Platt (0:53)

Just got back from the store. Would have been a little faster if it hadn't been traffic. I learned a lot about the podcast. Here's everything you need to know.

Branson Reese (0:59)

You went to the store in like seven seconds. What are you talking about? Would have been faster.

Tim Platt (1:03)

Host Arne Niekamp fell through a dimensional portal behind the Burger King in Chicago into the magical land of Foon.

Branson Reese (1:08)

Since then, he's used the Wi-Fi signal coming through the dimensional rift to record a podcast with his co-host, Usador the Wizard and Chunt the Talking Badger. Each week on Hello from the Magic Tavern, the hosts interview various creatures, spellcasters and adventurers from throughout the land of Foon. Previous guests include a Death Knight played by Brennan Lee Mulligan, a Red Wizard played by Felicia Day, a Giant played by Vic Michaelis, and a Magical Talking Crow played by Amy Mann. Holy shit. Maybe there were even other guests who maybe didn't make the ad copy read but had a really good time on it and were very funny playing a Talking Possum.

SPEAKER_1 (1:47)

No, no, no, I wasn't on that podcast. I didn't play a Talking Possum.

Joseph Lepore (1:51)

No, you were too busy at the store that took you 7 seconds to visit.

SPEAKER_1 (1:54)

We would have been sure if there wasn't traffic.

Branson Reese (1:55)

Step into the land of food with Hello from the Magic Tavern. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.

Tim Platt (2:02)

Branson was on an app.

Branson Reese (2:04)

Shut up.

Ali Fisher (2:06)

Are you guys talking about the hit podcast Hello from the Magic Tavern?

Branson Reese (2:10)

Not anymore, Ali.

Ali Fisher (2:12)

I just got here. Traffic was bad.

Tim Platt (2:17)

Nice. Today's episode of Blue Kindness High is supported by Dumb Dumbs and Dragons, a podcast where professional improvisers and comedians play Dungeons and Dragons for the first time. It's like Lord of the Rings if everyone was an idiot.

Joseph Lepore (2:30)

With storytelling from an award-winning game designer and a cast made up of second-city-trained improvisers, Dumb Dumbs and Dragons is a show that will make you laugh and might even make you cry.

Tim Platt (2:38)

Dumb Dumbs and Dragons has been downloaded more than 19 million times and charted as the number two fiction podcast in the US.

Joseph Lepore (2:46)

Dumb Dumbs and Dragons' trio of central heroes are the zaniest and most lovable crew you can join. Featuring Quinny, a thief who broke out of prison by serving his full sentence, Alan, a wizard who constantly forgets magic has consequences, and their mutual friend Butthole, a fart cleric of the goddess Moon Hammer, who the other two think he made up. Wow, with a main character named Butthole, what are they doing advertising on Rude Tales of Magic?

Tim Platt (3:08)

Dumb Dumbs and Dragons is a perfect show to start if you're curious about how D&D works. And if you've listened to this show, you probably would still like to know how D&D works.

But it's also a good show if you're a veteran and you will have a blast as this cast quickly picks up the rules and their wild adventures begin. I'd like to listen to the episode and it is funny. I recommend this is good.

Joseph Lepore (3:26)

New episodes are released every Monday, so you can listen to a Dumb Dumbs and then have a Rude Tales the next day. What a perfect media diet, friend.
