Hodgetwins Podcast. It's gonna be a damn good show.

Yeah, we got Sean Sharaf in the house. Yeah. Fresh off a 10 second, no, excuse me, nine second knockout.

Keith Hodge (0:21)

Yeah, that's right.

Kevin Hodge (0:22)

That was crazy, man. You was a huge underdog, and you just murdered that son of a bitch.

Keith Hodge (0:28)

Justice, brother.

Kevin Hodge (0:28)

Justice. Yeah.

How many fights had you had before you fought him? Six.

Sean Sharaf (0:34)

I was four and two going to the fight.

Kevin Hodge (0:36)

Okay, four and two. He was four and oh.

Sean Sharaf (0:38)

Yeah.

Kevin Hodge (0:39)

What made you such an underdog though?

Sean Sharaf (0:42)

Because I was coming off of two losses, and he was just all the hype. He had John Jones in his corner, and the Olympic gold medal. Yeah, they was already talking about he was being champ next year.

Kevin Hodge (0:55)

You was like Rocky Balboa, you ain't won shit yet.

Sean Sharaf (0:57)

Yeah, exactly.

Kevin Hodge (0:58)

You're there talking shit, told him, call him a rapist.

Sean Sharaf (1:00)

Yeah.

Kevin Hodge (1:01)

Is that true?

Sean Sharaf (1:03)

It's alleged the case, so it was in Minnesota apparently, and apparently there was some law changes after he got away with it. Really? Yeah. All the comments people are messaging me, they're just like, hey, just mention it, just mention it. So I just shed some light on the situation.

Kevin Hodge (1:18)

Yeah, because when it comes to sports, whether it's basketball, football, or even especially fighting, you got to get in your fighter's head.

Sean Sharaf (1:25)

Psychological warfare, y'all know that.

Kevin Hodge (1:27)

Dennis Rodman was great at that. Larry Bird, all the great players, they were really great at getting in the opponent's head.

Sean Sharaf (1:34)

Yeah, 100%.

And what I talked about in some of the other interviews, we always have safety briefs about that consent thing. They drilled that into our heads.

Kevin Hodge (1:42)

Marine Corps. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we were in the Marines.

Keith Hodge (1:45)

I've been watching y'all for a long time, man.

Kevin Hodge (1:47)

Oh, really?

Keith Hodge (1:47)

I used to watch y'all on duty, man, back in 2014

Sean Sharaf (1:50)

Oh, man, really? Yeah, yeah, I was telling him, even before in high school, we used to tell him, you guys get the emails, when you guys get the emails about, like, relationship advice and shit.

Keith Hodge (1:59)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Being balls deep and shit.

Sean Sharaf (2:03)

No, I've been watching them for a minute, man.

Kevin Hodge (2:04)

That's crazy. They was giving y'all safety briefs. When I was at Marine Corps, we was in from 94 to 98 They didn't give us none of that shit. You had to figure that shit out y'all.

Y'all, these dude briefs, they said, man, you can't do that, man. But back in the day, man, it was like, it's crazy. It's crazy.

Sean Sharaf (2:21)

I brought it up at the press conference and yeah, I think that definitely got under the skin a little bit for sure.

Kevin Hodge (2:26)

Oh yeah. Yeah.

Sean Sharaf (2:27)

Yeah.

Kevin Hodge (2:27)

So like I noticed some of the interview and it's like, it seemed like everybody hated him and he had this constant smile on his face. And that was actually like pissing me off. I'm like, why are you smiling so damn much?

Keith Hodge (2:38)

Yeah, yeah, it's fake.

Kevin Hodge (2:39)

And you're like, you're talking to the crowd, the crowd's not even addressing you. You know what I mean? I picked up on that and he just had this annoying ass smile on his face. I guess he was probably feeling uncomfortable because his past came up or whatnot. But I thought that total interview and then it came to you.

I was like, this dude's just chill. Yeah, he's just real. Yeah. Like everything the other guy was doing. What was his name? I forget his name. Gable Steveson. Yeah, Steveson. Everything was like, it looked like it was an act. He was acting.

Sean Sharaf (3:07)

He was very PR trained.

Kevin Hodge (3:08)

I think that comes from the Olympics and stuff. And everyone was saying that.

Sean Sharaf (3:11)

He's very well trained in the cameras, give those NPC answers and just.

Kevin Hodge (3:14)

Yeah, that doesn't work in MMA.

Sean Sharaf (3:16)

No, no.

Kevin Hodge (3:17)

People see right through that. Yeah. People want a Kevin Strickland, I mean a Sean Strickland up there. Somebody being real.

Sean Sharaf (3:23)

Yeah, that's the homie. Yeah, yeah.
