Shane Gillis is the host and he's doing his monologue. And he's talking about going to the gym. He said, women dress like whores at the gym.

And that's basically it.

And he said it in a joking manner.

Yes, it was a joke.

You mean the comedian said it in a joking way?

So all these people from Eugene Levy's kid and former SNL cast members, men and women, have came out and said, that's so inappropriate. But there's a lot of people like myself that grew up watching Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. And we don't get offended by anything. What do you think? You're somebody that goes to the gym. You teach classes at a gym.

Johnette Cruz (1:45)

Yeah, I think some girls, women dress like whores at the gym. It's very true.

It is what it is. Look, here's the deal. When you go to the gym, most of the time, if you are going to buy leggings that have scrunches, that accentuates your booty, right? And you are just accentuating your body in general, what you're buying. That's the whole point. You go in and you go to a gym because you want people to look at you. If you don't want people to look at you, then go wear a long sleeve T-shirt and wear some sweats.

OK, this is the follow up question I think America needs. Do you dress like a whore at the gym?

Johnette Cruz (2:18)

At one point in time, I did because I was bodybuilding. I've done five bodybuilding shows. And so, you know, when you start to cut weight and you start to get down on your body fat, you're like, damn, I look good. I want to I want to wear whatever I want to wear at the gym. And yeah, I'm going to have people stare at me. And I'm proud of it because I just worked my booty off for 30 weeks on this prep. So, yeah, at a certain point, I was.

Nigel Hammer (2:38)

I don't think you'd describe it as, you know, with the W word, though, you wouldn't describe your. Yeah, you wouldn't necessarily on your own describe that. But when you see Shane Gillis, who's just trying to promote his Netflix show, Tires, right? By the way, that's all he was doing, right? Is calling attention subversively to that show.

That's what he was doing.

The whole thing is, if you're going to dress a certain way, expect to get attention, plain and simple. If you don't want attention, don't dress that way.

I want to go back to you being a bodybuilder. I didn't know that you were badass.

Yeah, I did.

I'm a skinny bench.

I did five NPC bikini competitions. I did NPC bikini and then I placed top three.

Nigel Hammer (3:25)

What's that mean? What's NPC?

Johnette Cruz (3:26)

So NPC, there's different divisions of bodybuilding. So NPC is just one of the divisions of bodybuilding that you can go into. So I've done five shows.
