**Ana Kasparian** (4:24)
Welcome to TYT, I'm your host, Ana Kasparian, and we have such a jam-packed show ahead for you today. I had a difficult time deciding what we're going to cover, so I decided we're gonna cover as much as humanly possible in two and a half hours. So we will be having a bonus for our members after the five o'clock hour. So no, no, I'm sorry, five o'clock Pacific, 8 PM Eastern. That's when we'll do our members only bonus episode. So if you're a member, definitely tune into that. We will be interviewing a Palestinian journalist and activist from the West Bank whose family has experienced the violence from Israeli settlers firsthand. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about how Kusra in the West Bank is besieged by Israeli settlers and has been for 17 days straight.
What do you think the IDF is doing in response to it? They're helping the settlers, okay? These are people who are trapped in their homes without any food or water getting to them. It's just, anyway, tune into that, tyt.com/join to become a member. The show is gonna be a little heavy on economics today. We're gonna start off with an economic update. Then we're gonna get into the beef debacle that Trump has created here in the US. I didn't start with Trump, but he has made the situation worse, if you will. So we'll talk about that in the second hour. Trita Parsi will be joining us to talk about some of the goings on in the US military and, of course, some updates on the Iran war. As always, just wanna encourage you to like and share the stream if you guys are watching us live. And you can also become a member, help keep us independent, help me run my mouth without fear by becoming a member at tyt.com/join or just hit that join button. And before we get started with the stories that me and my team dutifully produced for you today, I just wanna say, I'm really struggling today. And I think part of the reason why or a big reason why I'm struggling is because of what's playing out with the Democratic establishment and how they intentionally twisted one of the things that Hassan has said that I do not find objectionable at all, which is that Jewish people or Jews in general are not a monolith. And that you shouldn't conflate Zionism with Judaism, you shouldn't conflate what Israel is carrying out with the desires of the entire Jewish population. The way the Democratic establishment coordinated with one another and twisted his words in order to hurt Abdul al-Sayed's chances of winning that Senate seat in Michigan.
It's just, as you guys probably can already tell, I'm not really a hopeful person these days, but whatever hope I had left was kind of squashed by that. And it's scary to not feel that there's someone to root for in our government. So I'm going to hang in there, but I just I needed to get that off my chest because it's been very heavy on my soul, let's just put it that way.
And it's really difficult to stomach the fact that these are our representatives. These are people who are supposed to be serving us and they are more outraged over this made up narrative about Hassan Piker than they are about their colleague, Randy Fine, discussing openly and overtly how Palestinian children should be starved to death.
These are lawmakers who have aided, abetted, and funded genocide. So it's tough, and I think we put on a brave face on this show every single day, but we're people too. And I just came home yesterday and I was sobbing because it's, who do you root for in this government? No one, really. Anyway, let's get to our news of the day. Let's start with an economic update.
