Finally, I guess the purpose of this more than anything else is we're going to be changing the name of Lake Ontario effective immediately to Lake America. That's going to take place right now as I sign the order.

Erick Erickson (0:56)

Can I have a show of hands, please? Can I have a show of hands? Who, which American is going to vote Republican in the midterms because the president changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America? Who is going to suddenly vote Republican that was not going to vote Republican? Because, oh my gosh, I hated the name of that lake, that Lake Ontario, I hated that name. Those freaking Canadians, it should be Lake America, Gulf America, Lake America, we should do the Atlantic and Pacific as well. Who is going to vote Republican? If it was a one-off thing, y'all, we could all kind of laugh about it, but also it's a missed opportunity. Shouldn't the president change the name from the San Andreas fault to Joe Biden's fault? I mean, that would at least be hilarious. That would be the funny one. The word Ontario is Iroquoian. It predates both the United States and Canada. The English settlers called it Lake Ontario because Ontario means Great Lake in Iroquoian, and they just adopted the Iroquoian word for the lake. The water named everything else.

The colony of Ontario took the name from the lake. The province took the name from the colony. The dominion of Canada didn't exist until two years after the Civil War in 1867

The name Lake Ontario, it predates the United States. It predates Canada. It predates every man who's ever inhabited the office of the presidency. And frankly, I don't think any president of the United States should have the power to rename a lake with the signage of a pin. It should take an act of Congress. I don't want some woke Democrat to come in and start renaming stuff either.

Well, we can't have that Lake Washington because you know Washington owned slaves. Let's get rid of that.

Reagan National Airport. Nope, we don't like that guy. Let's get ready. Although nowadays, it would be the folks at the Heritage Foundation and who would be opposed to the Reagan National Airport.

I don't think any president should have the power to rename with the stroke of a pen one of these things, but if the president is going to go to war with Canada and change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, can we please start killing the Canadian geese? Do you know how often my golf ball has rode into goose crap on the golf course? Because on my golf course, there are geese and they're always the obnoxious Canadian geese. The Canadian geese, they really are obnoxious, just like the Canadians.

Can we at least start killing the Canadian geese? We're going to go to war with Canada. Can we declare them an enemy? Or should we name them Donald Ducks? With the Canadian geese to the Donald Ducks now, they're going to be the Donald Ducks. Named not after the Disney character, but after the President of the United States. Because they like to be visible, seen and heard. And they leave poop everywhere.

Can we, I mean, my in-laws live on a lake, and they had a dog, and the dog would chase away the geese, and now they don't. When I'm up there, I might possibly pull out a shotgun and not fire it directly at the geese, but make enough of a loud boom that they go away, because they leave mess everywhere. They're just disgusting, and you're not supposed to kill them, and they should all die because they're an annoyance, a nuisance, and they shouldn't be protected. A mangraturing beard, no, kill them. They're a mess. If we're going to change the name of this lake, can we at least eradicate the Canadian geese? Send them back to Canada. Actually, deport the geese. Send them to Ghana, somewhere in Africa. They wouldn't go back to Canada, so we're going to send them to Africa. Food for the lions somewhere in South Africa.

I can't believe I have to start my show today. Some of you will say, Erickson, you didn't have to start your show this way. Yeah, I did, because it's the big news of the day. The President of the United States decided to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. Also, just side note, can he come up with, so we got the Gulf of America, we've got Lake America, are we going to have the American pond next, America the River? Can we come up with something other than America? Lake Liberty, how about that? Lake Liberty, the Great Lakes. You know, poor Lake Huron up there is like, what about me? Everybody forgets about Lake Huron. It's got a complex. It's like the middle child of the Great Lakes. You got what? You got Lake Superior. You got Lake Michigan. You got Lake Ontario. You got Lake Erie. And then there's Lake Huron. And Lake Huron is kind of like the Nothing Lake. And then you got that little bitty one. What is the little bitty one? Yeah, Lake St. Clair between Lake Huron and Lake Erie. And it's not really one of the Great Lakes. It's like the Lesser Lake.
