For the second week in a row, the story of Christa Pike, a woman who survived her botched execution in Tennessee, has been making headlines. No information was revealed about why this attempted legal injection failed and how she woke up after being put on a ventilator. We'll listen to discussion about the case from multiple angles, multiple stations and multiple experts.
Another case making headlines is the Vance Boelter case in Minnesota. Due to a gag order that was lifted this week, Boelter is the man who was found guilty of killing Democratic State Rep Melissa Hortman and her husband and shooting Democratic State Senator John Hoffman and his family members. We'll hear analysis of this case and check in on how it's progressed so far. But first, we have crime roundups from around the nation, starting in New York City. The community in Allerton Outreach, that's Angel Carrasco, walked out of NYPD's 49th precinct laughing and smiling. Despite his murder, manslaughter and attempted murder charges accused of killing his baby's mother and attempting to kill their 8-month-old daughter, throwing them both off a 15-story balcony, he didn't answer questions, but instead kept laughing.

Audacy's station, KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia, provided an update on a case of a woman and her boyfriend accused of killing her four-year-old son.
SPEAKER_8 (2:31)
West Philadelphia mother and her boyfriend have been found guilty of third-degree murder in the death of her four-year-old son three years ago. KWW's Sunny Morgan has been following the trial.
She joins us live with some more. Hey, Sunny.
Sunny Morgan (2:45)
Yeah, Pete, family members of four-year-old Amari Carter were obviously emotional as the jury read that verdict that both of them were guilty of third-degree murder. Now it's Dominique Bailey and her boyfriend, Kevin Spencer. They were found not guilty of the more serious first-degree murder charge by jurors. Now they began deliberations around 1230 this afternoon. One juror was actually dismissed for discussing the case in public. Lawyers ended up finding that out this morning. The jury asked two questions during their deliberations, one about conspiracy and if it can exist without premeditated murder.
It took less than three hours for that jury to come down with that verdict. The decision came immediately after their question was addressed. Both Spencer and Bailey were also found guilty of abuse of corpse and reporting.
Bailey told police at the time that her son was struck and killed by a car in 2023 Investigators say that crash never happened and that boy's body was found in a duffel bag months later in 2024 Now, both Bailey and Spencer will be sentenced in December.
SPEAKER_8 (3:42)

A 20-year-old New Jersey man is charged with attempted murder after an altercation Sunday night led to gunfire inside of Camden County, Wawa. KYW's Matt Coughlin is more on what happened.
Matt Coughlin (4:03)
Marcus L. Norman of Sicklerville is charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses. The Camden County Prosecutor says what started as an argument inside a Winslow Township, Wawa, quickly turned into a double shooting. Police say Norman and another 20-year-old man had a disagreement inside the store at Sicklerville and Williamstown New Freedom Road shortly after 9 Sunday night. Surveillance video, they say, shows Norman punch the other man, pull a gun, and fire. When officers arrived, they found Norman suffering from what they say is a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The other man walked into a hospital a short time later, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Police have not released his condition. Norman was arrested in Sicklerville and is being held in Camden County Prison. Matt Kauflin, KYW Newsradio, 1039
