Hello, I'm Mark Ellwood.

Nikki Ekstein (0:02)

And I'm Nikki Ekstein. We're the hosts of Bloomberg's new podcast, Travel Genius.

Mark Ellwood (0:07)

Yes, we are, and we are excited to share this new podcast, which is all about the joy of travel.

Nikki Ekstein (0:12)

Each week on Travel Genius, you'll hear from veteran jet setters as they stop by to share their favorite travel tips, tricks and hacks. Like TV travel host Samantha Brown, on the one thing in every hotel room that she says is so overlooked, but can be used in so many different ways.

Samantha Brown (0:32)

The ironing board.

I mean, it sits in the closet. It never comes out. No one wants to use it, but here's where it's really amazing. We always run out of counter space when we're in a hotel, and it's four feet of counter space. A lot of people now are working at desks, standing, right? Standing desks is the new trend. It's a standing desk.

Mark Ellwood (0:51)

We'll also cover the hottest topics and news within the travel world to help make you a more informed, savvy traveler. Ever wonder if there's the right time to buy a plane ticket, or maybe how companies are trying to make vacations appeal to teenagers?

Nikki Ekstein (1:04)

Well, we've got you covered, and you'll also hear some incredible travel stories along the way, like from Philippe Cousteau and the time he was chased through the streets of Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.

Philippe Cousteau (1:14)

And I ran around another corner and literally bumped into three cops, and they had an Uzi on one shoulder and a shotgun on the other, each of them.

And the guys chasing me stopped dead in their tracks and looked at the police and looked at me. The cops looked at me, looked at them, and then looked at me and just kind of smiled. And they were like, you are lucky.

So come along for the adventure. Travel Genius launches November 14th on Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
