**Hammer** (0:06)
Yeah, my name is Nigel Jason Hammer right over there with a very special guest on the hotline.
**Nigel** (0:12)
Some would call him an investigative reporter for the Daily Signal. Others would say he's the third place finisher in the Kenny Loggins lookalike contest.
**SPEAKER_3** (0:21)
Tony Kinnett joins us.
**Nigel** (0:22)
How are you, my friend?
**Tony Kinnett** (0:24)
Gentlemen, I'm fantastic, but more important than anything, I'm very smug and arrogant. And that's what everyone expects of me.
**Hammer** (0:31)
Yes, you are. And I like it. I dig it.
**Nigel** (0:34)
All right, let's get down to brass tacks here. Big night in Michigan last night, they had a big Senate race. Their options were a radical socialist or the female Chris Farley.
And it was a lot closer than people thought.
**Hammer** (0:49)
Chris Farley.
**Nigel** (0:50)
The polling had the radical socialist, Abdul El-Sayed, beating the brakes off of female Farley. But honestly, it wasn't able to be called until early this morning, Tony. What do we make of this?
**Tony Kinnett** (1:05)
This was the best thing that could have happened. I'm not joking. And I have the actual records to say this. It's not just like after the game. Oh, I wanted it to turn out that way. I said yesterday on the show before the ballots started coming in.
So not like a Fox News calling Maricopa County early kind of situation. I said, if Haley Stevens wins, I'm a little nervous because this would mean that Rogers is going to be down in the polls. But if they get this Abdul guy up here and they think they have all of this energy, I want him to win by a thin margin. What I was not expecting was how gracious the good Lord would be to me. And instead, I got to see, what was it? Like a one point victory and all of the black voters in Detroit voted overwhelmingly absolutely no to Abdul El-Sayed and they voted for SpongeBob the hall monitor or Chris Farley as Matt Foley or whatever Haley Stevens crawled out of a sewer vat to pretend to be.
**Nigel** (1:58)
Yeah.
So there's a couple of different things here. Like number one, what does this mean about polling? Because polling showed this was supposed to be like this generational ass kiss, kicking. But number two, number two, what does this mean moving forward, Tony?
**Tony Kinnett** (2:19)
Well, the polling and even more of these betting markets, I've been hearing about this. Oh, well, betting markets are better because people put their money behind things. Like, do you know how many jackasses there are who don't know how to gamble? Like, are we really about to play that game? But anywho, aside from the betting markets, oh, cal she, oh, polymarket, oh, just stop it. The polling, I was told that Abdul is going to clean up because who do the pollsters go out and take the poll questions for? Those who are politically active. Right now, those are the youths. Those are the college age kids and the socialists. You don't exactly go down south side Detroit. You're not exactly rolling around fourth mile and going, hey, excuse me, my good crackhead, who are you supporting in the primary? Like, that's not usually happening.
So, you got this really outsized approach. But moving forward, what this means, they do not have the momentum to beat Mike Rogers. Mike Rogers, the Republican, lost in the last election to Elisa Slotkin, who was far more likable and wasn't essentially AIDS for a campaign by 0.3%.
And Abdul, who is AIDS, mixed with the common cold and the clap, he is going to try to muster all of these voters who've already said, well, if I can't have Haley Stevens, or Matt Foley, then in this case, they're going to have to go with either Mike Rogers, or they're going to have to stay at home. And Michigan has become the state for staying at home and pouting.
**Hammer** (3:42)
It's really impressive. Wasn't there a third candidate that was on the ballot, but had already dropped out, that got votes yesterday too?
**Tony Kinnett** (3:49)
McMorrow. So McMorrow did what every great political candidate did. She took a page out of American Pie's book and waltzed into the DNC for Michigan with a marching band that was out of tune. It was like at this one time in band camp, I came in third for governor.
And she just got wrecked and she ended up dropping out, but she dropped out after the cutoff point. So people could still vote for her.
**Hammer** (4:13)
Yeah.
**Tony Kinnett** (4:14)
And she's like, I have all of this McMorrow momentum. And all she did was shoot herself in the foot like Barney Fife.
