**SPEAKER_1** (0:00)
Good morning, my American family.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:02)
We show girls love on Valentine's Day, and they let us blow stuff up on the 4th of July.
**SPEAKER_1** (0:08)
That's so American.
**Jerry Lopez** (0:10)
It's freedom, baby, yeah.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:12)
I'm an American, aren't I?
**Tony Kinnett** (0:14)
You are an American success story, no doubt about that.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:17)
You're out of shape even for an American.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:19)
We are celebrating our freedom and our manhood.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:23)
Stand back while I celebrate freedom.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:27)
That's freedom, that's America.
**SPEAKER_1** (0:30)
You're listening to the Hammer and Nigel Show.
**Jerry Lopez** (0:33)
It is America's birthday week. And when you think about great Americans, you think about George Washington, you think about Thomas Jefferson, and then you think about Tony Kinnett from the Daily Signal who joins us right now. The Tonus, how are you?
**Tony Kinnett** (0:51)
I'm feeling American, I'm feeling free, and above all, I'm feeling glad to not be in Chicago. Just because, you know, it's hell. Good afternoon, guys.
**Jerry Lopez** (1:01)
Good afternoon. I was just telling Jerry Lopez, who's filling in for Nigel here, these amazing 1776 little pieces that air every day. I hope that the one on Friday is, it was July 3rd, 1776, Thomas Jefferson sitting in a hot tub with his slave said, oh crap, that's due tomorrow.
I really hope that's the one that airs on Friday.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:30)
Savage.
**Tony Kinnett** (1:30)
I hope they tell the story about how President Madison and President Adams' wives were like, you didn't spend enough time with it, and also I don't like your hair because it's noted that John Adams' wife was like, I think your hair looks ugly right before the Declaration of Independence.
**Jerry Lopez** (1:48)
I tell you what, man, I have seen Independence Hall. I went there this past year, and I don't know why, but I guess in my head, I thought it was bigger. You walk into Independence Hall, and first of all, the masonry is fantastic. It's still basically the same brick that it was in 1776, but I thought the room would be bigger. It was a small room, Tony, and I just kept thinking to myself, these dudes were dressed up in multiple layers, all wood. It was hotter than hell. They didn't have the windows open because they didn't want anything to leak out back in the time. Could you imagine the infighting that was going on in that joint?
**Tony Kinnett** (2:28)
I can, but they all united around the most common American cause that there is, flipping off the King of England.
**Jerry Lopez** (2:35)
Yes.
**Tony Kinnett** (2:35)
And nothing could be truer today. I mean, flipping off the Prime Minister of the UK and his failing government. I mean, some things are just as American as apple pie.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:45)
Yeah, if I had a dollar for every time I heard, I thought it was bigger. I'd have minus $10.
But it's a first of all, congratulations. My good friend and Armando, Tony Kinnett. I you deserve to hear this. It's crazy to see you on CNN, man. Well deserved. And I'm happy that local talent is bringing the heat on a national stage.
**Tony Kinnett** (3:07)
That's very kind. I like going on CNN only because as soon as I say something that a lot of Hoosiers say, they look really confused because that's not unlike the coastal Republican playbook.
But it's a lot of fun. And again, I blame all of this on Hammer and Nigel every little bit of it.
**SPEAKER_4** (3:23)
We all do.
**Jerry Lopez** (3:24)
I mean, if you think about again, I'm proud to work here at WIBC. I admit I'm a homer for this radio station, but we truly are one of the powerhouses and news talk around the country, not just from a signal perspective. It's a very strong signal. But Tony Kinnett goes on national news all the time. Tony Katz goes on national news all the time. I go on national news. I have a weekly hit on Outkick all the time. That's three different people on the same station.
I'm damn proud to work here, Tony.
**Tony Kinnett** (3:57)
I'm also glad that we actually make predictions and get those predictions right. And that's the most important thing in the entire world, is telling a bunch of random people how right you were, because everyone loves our humility here at WIBC.
Like when we call the Supreme Court decisions, three for three or the day before, four for four. I mean, you know, then we point at the scoreboard and said, I knew this was going to happen. I knew the good things were going to be here. I knew the disappointments were going to be over here. That's why you tune in here, because even if we're grumpy, even if we have massive egos, we're most often right.
