There's a lot of people that only go out and vote on a presidential year.
We might even know some of them, but it's the local people that have access to your wallet faster than any president, any senator, anybody in Washington, DC. And a great example is, well, one here in Indianapolis with the wheel tax, because the overwhelming Democrats on the council love to tax the bejesus out of you and not look for any spending.
Nigel (0:32)
How much is that one going to cost you? Hammer being a Marion County resident, by the way, just curious.
Jason Hammer (0:37)
Well, I own vehicles for everyone in my family, myself, the coupon lady and the two boys, four cars. I'm going to get an extra $400 in taxes this year.
Nigel (0:47)
There it is.
Jason Hammer (0:49)
Now, to some people, that might not be a big deal, but I think it sucks. And to watch these losers, like Jared Evans and Councilor Roberts and Frank Mascari, all vote for this thing, and then high five and play grab ass and celebrate screwing you.
Remember that. Remember that Jared Evans loves raising your taxes. Remember that Frank Mascari loves raising your taxes. And these two guys specifically, Mascari lives in Beech Grove. He's the Beech Grove representative of the Marion County City County Council, meaning his wheel tax isn't $100 more per vehicle. It's just 25 because he lives in Beech Grove. But he has no problem giving you the middle finger.
And Jared Evans lives at home with his parents, who are perfectly fine, by the way. There's no ailment that he's taking care of them. He's just a bum that lives at home with his parents, and he has no problem raising your taxes all the way up.
Nigel (1:49)
What do you think his bedroom looks like? Do you see posters hanging up of like sports stars or maybe movies like like like when I was a kid and I lived with my parents, I had the Bash brothers, the Mark Maguire and Jose Conceco.
Jason Hammer (2:04)
I had the Bo Jackson one where he had the shoulder pads and the baseball bats. I had the Bo Jackson. Yeah.
Nigel (2:10)
Yeah.
Jason Hammer (2:11)
Yep.
Nigel (2:11)
I'm just wondering, what do you think his bedroom looks like? Does it still look like George Costanza from Seinfeld?
Jason Hammer (2:18)
Oh, it's all Ben Davis football. Because that's all he campaigns on.
Remember when I was on that championship Ben Davis football team? Like he's one of the old guys in varsity blues that show up to the high school parties in the keger. Like wearing the letter jacket.
Nigel (2:34)
Sure.
Jason Hammer (2:34)
Remember when I played football? Like he's total peaked in high school guy, but loves, loves, loves raising your taxes. And Southwest siders, have your roads gotten any better? And have your wallets gotten any better?
I think I know the answer to both of those. You do remember that next year when basically Will Ferrell's character in Wedding Crashers decides to run for the city county council?
Nigel (3:00)
Chas.
Jason Hammer (3:01)
Ma, me love. You go over to his house for a campaign meeting, Ma, me love now.
Nigel (3:10)
Move your effing skateboard, Chas.
Jason Hammer (3:14)
But it's not just here. It's in other cities like Boston. Critics are ripping their Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu for this program that has taxpayer money, legal citizen taxpayer money.
But you have to be in illegal to get the money.
Nigel (3:35)
I'm sorry. What? How does this work?
Jason Hammer (3:38)
The Democrat Mayor in Boston is launching a program that trains migrants in political activism.
Nigel (3:46)
You mean illegal migrants? Yes.
Jason Hammer (3:50)
575 bucks to take this political activism class, and U.S.-born citizens are not allowed to take it. So you can pay for it, but somebody that's not here legally will be the recipient of it, take the class, and then probably vote against you if, and that's air quotes, they ever become citizens.
Nigel (4:12)
What are these people doing?
And when I say these people, yeah, I mean these people. What are these politicians doing? What are you doing?
Jason Hammer (4:24)
They know they can get away with it. That's the thing that sucks. Indianapolis is the same way. Look at the basket case that is Joe Hogg set. Look at how bad Ryan Mears is at his job. But they don't hardly have to campaign because they know it's such a blue city. All the sheep will just rush out to the polls and automatically hit same ticket party, all Democrat.
