Over the years, some might say, I have been slightly critical of Democrat politicians. At times, I've even been arguably a tiny bit rude. When describing Democrat politicians, I've used mildly uncharitable language. Certain words have been thrown around, words like demons, Satanists, perverts, degenerates, bastards, morons, half-wits, imbeciles, freaks.
And that was just over breakfast this morning. Now, of course, all of those words were accurate, and if anything, they were overly generous. But I'll admit that they do qualify as criticisms, and I can tend to criticize these people on a relatively frequent basis.
Today, though, I'm going to take things in a different direction. For the first time in the history of my show or my life, I'm going to speak positively about a Democrat. In fact, I'm going to highlight a Democrat candidate for office that I support. Now, I don't support most of her views. We no doubt disagree substantially on the issues, but she is without question the most eloquent, compelling, persuasive, intelligent, and virtuous Democrat candidate to run for office since at least like the 1840s. Now, I'm not going to vote for her because I don't live in her district or her state, and also because voting for a Democrat is spiritually equivalent to selling your soul to Satan. But from afar, I will offer my admiration and moral support. So her name is Jamie West. She's running for County Council in Fayette County, Indiana. She recently appeared on a candidates forum hosted by a local news station and the clips of her interview have gone very viral. Many people have noted that she is, for a Democrat, shockingly cogent, fluent, well-spoken.
By Democrat standards, this woman is one of the great political figures of our time. The Democrat Party should immediately make her the presidential nominee for 2028 They certainly don't have anyone better waiting in the wings. So here then is Jamie, and we'll go through this piece by piece, but here she is delivering her opening remarks. Listen.

With that, I want to go to you, Jamie. How are you today?
Jamie West (2:10)
I'm good. How are you?
Matt Walsh (2:12)
Good.
SPEAKER_2 (2:12)
Would you like to share with us a little bit about yourself and read your opening statement?
Jamie West (2:17)
Okay. I didn't write one, so I'm just going to not read it, just say it out loud from my heart. Okay.
My name is Jamie West. I'm a mother of three. They're all grown children. They're all pretty successful. I'm proud of them.
I own a cleaning business called Queen Bee's Cleaning LLC, because I am an environmentalist. I do. That's why I named it that. I am a gig worker. I deliver a lot of groceries and packages for my community. So if you trust me, delivering your groceries, you should trust me with your vote. You know? You know? I mean, come on. But, um...

Now, there are a few things that come to mind right out of the gate as it relates to Ms. Jamie West.
The first is that obviously she drank like two and a half liters of Chardonnay before this appearance. The second is that along with being apparently a raging alcoholic, she also delivers groceries. The third is, if you've ever ordered groceries for delivery, this makes a lot of sense. Anyone who's ever used Instacart knows what it's like to order like paper towels, a box of spaghetti, a gallon of milk, and then have somebody pull up in your driveway nine hours later with toilet paper, a jar of mustard, and a bottle of soda, and a flavor you didn't know existed. Instacart allows for substitution so that if an item you order isn't on the shelf, the driver can substitute a similar item for it. The problem is that the Instacart drivers interpret similar item as any item that also exists in a three-dimensional plane.
They look at similarity in a more metaphysical sense. I thought they were just being philosophically rigorous in their thinking, but it turns out that these people, to include Uber Eats drivers, are actually sauced out of their minds. Who would have known? So that solves the mystery, and already Jamie has enlightened us more than any Democrat ever has, and she's just getting started.
Jamie West (4:16)
I'm here because I have been going to the state house for years, fighting this legislation that goes through. Senate Bill 1, Dale Strong mentioned that, and how much it hurts our communities. It doubled so many people's property taxes. Only about one or two percent of all of Hoosiers benefited from it, and it harmed our communities, our rural communities, especially our schools.
