**Hammer** (0:00)
Idaho, you and I got to have a little chat here.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:03)
Yes.
**Hammer** (0:04)
So, as many people know, for years, I've been very passionate about my support on the death penalty. I don't believe we use it enough. I wish we would have more cost-efficient ways to do it.
Idaho has become the first state to make Firing Squad its primary execution method.
But here's the thing. I said on this program in the past, if Firing Squad comes to Indy, they need to have volunteers that are willing to come forward and fire the shots. We could have a contest on the Hammer and Nigel Show. Caller number nine gets to kill a bad guy. I think that'd be fantastic. Idaho is kind of doing it. So Idaho is now looking for volunteers, law enforcement background, though, to be part of the firing squad system.
They're looking for six volunteers. They will be certified for no less than three years apiece. They're calling it a peace officer standard, and they will train you, and nobody will really know who the proper gunman is. One live round will be in one other rifles. Everything else, not a death blow. But they're looking for volunteers, and I can't help but think that I need to contact a lawyer because, Brian, that was my idea.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:31)
You know what? It was your idea. I'm here for it. However, I think they're just coming up a little a little bit short.
First off, everybody should have a right to apply. The state should give and facilitate a training course that everybody has to pay to attend, that wants to attend, and then you bid. You bid on your opportunity to be on the squad. And this will offset the cost of everybody on death row because tell me, are you going to pay 300 bucks to go take that course, three-day course? You're in.
**Hammer** (2:05)
You're in.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:05)
You're in. I'm in. Whether you get the call or not, you're taking that course.
**Hammer** (2:09)
If I'm going to spend $15 on Taco Bell for myself at the drive-thru, I sure as hell am going to pay 300 bucks to kill a bad guy.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:17)
Yeah. And you'll have a whole lot less regret.
**Hammer** (2:20)
I agree with you 100 percent. Vic makes a great point on the YouTube chat here. If we did that in Indiana, the pay-per-view money could also go to help fix the roads. No more tax increases. See, I need to tell Chris Hammer this, because one day when he runs for the governor, we're the governor. These are the types of things that can bring in revenue and rally the base. Pay-per-view executions, volunteer to kill bad guys. I'm here for it, baby.
