Well, hello everybody. Welcome to the Todd Starnes radio show. Great to have you with us today.

Again, that number, 901-260-5926, and we'll be getting to your calls. So, late yesterday, we got word that the verdict had been reached in the Karmelo Anthony trial, and he was found guilty. It was a unanimous verdict and 35 years in prison.
That was the penalty, that's the price that Karmelo Anthony is going to have to pay for stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death, Austin Metcalf. Now, we were talking about this last time on Newsmax, and I wanted to have a little conversation. I was getting a little testy with one of our guests during the show yesterday, and the reason why is, you know, the guy was coming right out of the gate, and I was like, well, you know, this really isn't about race, and we shouldn't make it about race, and, you know, we should be conciliatory, and look, the reality of it is, this is all about race. I mean, it shouldn't be, but it is. When you've got people out there saying that the only good cracker is a dead cracker, when you've got people chanting blank white people, you can't help but understand this is all about race. And there are a lot of people in the, I don't know, the conservative media world, and they just, they get so freaked out over the race issue. We don't get freaked out here, because for me, it really is, and pardon the expression here, it really is a black and white issue for me. Now, the reality is that we're all made in God's image, right? That's what we used to sing in the little Baptist church that I grew up in. We used to sing a song in Sunday school. Maybe you sing the song too. Jesus loves all the little children, all the children of the world. Red, yellow, black, white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world. I mean, that's, that is a very central truth that we are all created in God's image. And yet, critical race theory has done this to our nation. Critical race theory has infected our culture. And I blame Barack Hussein Obama for this. As a matter of fact, I do it in writing in my book, The Golden Age. And we're going to be taking your calls on this through the show today because we've got to talk about this. But there are people outside of that courtroom, and even the parents of Karmelo Anthony, who believe that Austin Metcalf got what he deserved. And the irony here is one of the most powerful witnesses in this case, and I did follow the case, one of the most powerful witnesses in the case happened to be a witness for the defense. 15 times, 15 times, Karmelo Anthony was told to get out of that tent, that he had no business being in the tent. And if you're in cross country, if you're in, if you've run track, you know that the tents for the teams are sort of like, they're sacred areas, they're temples for people.
And when he was told, and by the way, Karmelo Anthony had no business being there, he also was not allowed to have any weapon on him, one school property, and he did. So the testimony really was damning against Karmelo Anthony, which is why the verdict came back guilty, and it was unanimous. Cut number two, please.

courtroom jurors heard more emotional testimony about what happened the day Austin Metcalf was killed. Yesterday, Metcalf's track coach Rob Starr took the stand, and he said, Each school's team tent is considered its own space at a track meet. It's a big deal for athletes from other schools to go into another team's tent, like a locker room. Today, one of Metcalf's teammates, testifying several people told Karmelo Anthony, You probably shouldn't be here. You need to leave our tent. Anthony was told to leave around 15 times. He says no one tried to gang up on Anthony, telling the jury they originally tried calmly to ask him to leave. He described the situation as, Miner pushing at most, but from there, things escalated. The teammates say Anthony and Metcalf were both angry. And that's when he says Anthony told Metcalf with his hands in his backpack, touch me and find out. That teammate testified that Metcalf pushed Anthony and then Anthony stabbed him. He says he then heard Metcalf say, Oh my God, another teammate also took the stand. And when asked whether it looked like Metcalf was trying to pick a fight, he said, No.
