We're doing great, especially because of what we were discussing this morning. We are six days out from a very momentous change in our immigration policy.

Okay. Yeah, that's exactly right. I was wondering, I wasn't actually sure where you were going with that, believe it or not. You know, this is one of those weird days in the news where we have this big wall of monitors over here and we get to see all the different news channels that are going on. And there is quite literally a different headline on all of them.
So CNN is covering the fact that Musk is about to open up his spending to help Republicans in the midterms. We've got Fox talking about California judge tossing DOJ girl's sports case.

Vice President Vance is going to host a White House press briefing.

The Young Turks is talking about terrorism in Gaza.
You know, there's all kinds of things going on. Then we've got the Lindsey Clancy trial heading into day six. So there is lots of different various news items that are percolating and circulating. But what's interesting is there is nobody, as far as I can tell there, talking about what Blake just mentioned. And I want to make sure that you are aware. And that is in six days, a 25 year and running temporary protected status for El Salvadorans, if after the 2001 earthquakes in that country, is going to finally expire.
Now, you're probably wondering what earthquakes? Exactly. Nobody remembers. But these people, almost 200,000 of them, have been legalized to stay and remain in the United States for 25 years on a TPS designation that was originally given 18 months.

It's amazing to read. I went and I looked up the original press release. This happened in the first few months of the George W. Bush administration, before 9-11 even happened. And there's just these incredible quotes in it. It was the designation was made by AG John Ashcroft, covered, even then they admitted up to 150,000 people.

Yeah, we got rid of it. So, office that doesn't even exist anymore, Marianne Wersch says, the havoc caused by these earthquakes makes it extremely difficult for Salvadorans to return home safely at this time.
Given that reality, granting them temporary protected status is the prudent and humane thing to do. And they have a bit where they describe, there's thousands of injured, thousands of homes destroyed. These factors have clearly resulted in a substantial but temporary disruption to living conditions in El Salvador.

An estimated 170,000 members of our community nationwide may need to leave the country as early as next week. That's how many Salvadorans living in the US with something called temporary protected status will have to go if that TPS is allowed to expire. It includes people like Daisy Gonzalez.
