It's Imagination Time With Caitie! This episode is called The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
SPEAKER_2 (0:43)
Let's go on in our imagination, go on adventures again and again. Hello, hello, it's good to be with you, my friend.
Caitie (1:02)
I'm Caitie, and this is Zach.
SPEAKER_5 (1:05)
Hello, hello.
SPEAKER_6 (1:14)
Wow, Zach, you're really good at playing piano.
SPEAKER_7 (1:21)
Were you always this good at playing piano?
Zach (1:25)
Not at first. It took years of practice.
SPEAKER_7 (1:29)
But now, I can do this.
SPEAKER_6 (1:38)
Amazing!
Caitie (1:40)
You must have had to practice a lot.
SPEAKER_9 (1:43)
It takes time to get really good at something. Like Zach said, it could take years. And it isn't always easy, especially at the beginning when everything is new.
But if you keep trying and trying and trying, eventually, you will reach your goal.
SPEAKER_3 (2:09)
Just like Zach and his piano.
SPEAKER_9 (2:15)
And that reminds me of another story. A classic story about a water spout and a determined spider that tries to get to the top.
Today, let's go on an imagination adventure to the very bottom of a water spout.
SPEAKER_6 (2:39)
And we can imagine what it takes to get all the way to the tippy top.
SPEAKER_9 (2:48)
Ready, Zach? Ready, Caitie! Are you ready, friends? Let's calm our minds and relax our bodies and get ready for our imagination adventure. We'll start with a deep breath all together.
As we breathe in and out, let's imagine we're getting smaller and smaller. Smaller than a puppy, smaller than a mouse, until we're as teeny tiny as an itsy bitsy spider. Let's wiggle our fingers and imagine there are 8 spider legs. I imagine I can feel our legs resting on a silky spiderweb that sparkles in the sun and sways gently in the breeze. Today, we're going to do something exciting, something every itsy bitsy spider dreams of. I imagine I can feel my bravery and excitement tingle through my spider body, from the top of my head all the way down to the tips of my eight spider feet. Let's take one more deep breath all together.
Our imagination adventure is about to begin.
Caitie (5:36)
The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
SPEAKER_10 (5:37)
Everything else looks very big.
SPEAKER_11 (5:43)
The blades of grass tower overhead.
SPEAKER_7 (5:48)
So thick, we can barely see the blue sky poking through.
SPEAKER_10 (5:54)
All we can see are the giant rocks, and sticks, and plants all around us. I imagine, it might be nice to get higher up and see what we can see.
SPEAKER_9 (6:17)
I imagine I can see right in front of my eight spider eyes, a big water spout that stretches way up into the sky.
SPEAKER_7 (6:32)
Can you see it? In your mind?
SPEAKER_6 (6:35)
I imagine I can't even see the top. It's so tall!
SPEAKER_9 (6:42)
If we can get all the way up there, we'll be able to see all around.
SPEAKER_12 (6:51)
Are you ready, Itsy Bitsy Spiders? Let's wiggle our eight spider legs, and we'll climb up the water spout.
Climb up, climb up, everybody, let's climb up. Climb up, climb up, we can climb all day.
SPEAKER_7 (7:20)
We're doing it!
SPEAKER_9 (7:23)
We're already so much higher. I imagine I can see the tops of the blades of grass now.
SPEAKER_13 (7:41)
Uh-oh. I imagine we got to a part of the waterspout that feels slippery.
I can't hold on with my eight Itsy Bitsy Spider legs.
Zach (7:53)
We're starting to slide down.
SPEAKER_13 (7:58)
The grass is getting big again.
Zach (8:01)
Whoa!
Caitie (8:05)
Oh, no.
SPEAKER_7 (8:08)
We're back on the ground.
SPEAKER_9 (8:11)
I guess climbing up the waterspout is a bit trickier than I thought.
SPEAKER_13 (8:18)
That slippery spot took us all the way back down the waterspout. But now, we know where that slippery spot is.
Caitie (8:30)
So this time, we can go around it.
SPEAKER_9 (8:34)
And then we'll get to the top.
SPEAKER_2 (8:41)
When you want to give up, try again.
SPEAKER_14 (8:45)
Keep on trying, keep on trying.
SPEAKER_6 (8:51)
Let's try again.
SPEAKER_12 (8:55)
The Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbed Up the Water Spout Here we go!
SPEAKER_9 (9:04)
We might be Itsy Bitsy Spiders, but if we keep trying, we can do anything, in our imaginations and in real life.
SPEAKER_12 (9:21)
Climb up, climb up, everybody climb up, climb up, climb up, up the water spout.
SPEAKER_11 (9:31)
Oh, here comes that slippery part where we slid down last time.
SPEAKER_9 (9:38)
This time, we know to be careful. But how are we going to get around it?
SPEAKER_14 (9:57)
Hmm, we need an idea.
