Well, good afternoon and welcome.
Drew Mariani (0:13)
Hey, thank you for joining me today. I'm really grateful to be able to be here and pray with you. If you have an intention, a need, a want, a desire, there's something going on in your life, you're like, oh, I just can't pray. Maybe you're frustrated with the Lord. Maybe you're angry with the Lord. Maybe you do not understand the diagnosis, the financial hardship, the way we're child.
I get it. Believe me, I do.
If you just want to pray, because maybe you can't pray, just join us, just be here and pray along with us. I share this story all the time of a man whose father was dying. And he wrote to me, he said, Drew, I read your book, The Divine Mercy, and I know how powerful the prayer of the chaplet is for the dying. He said, but my dad was dying. I was at his bedside, it was the middle of the night, I just couldn't pray. So I went to the mobile app, and I turned on the chaplet of Divine Mercy, and I just let it pray. I let the chaplet pray for me. So that's what I want to invite you to do today too. Because I know sometimes you might say, Lord, I just can't pray, or I don't want to pray. Give the intention to our spiritual family here, and we'll pray for you, okay? If you want to get through on the phone lines, Gavin is on the board today. He also hosts, he also produces for The Tim Gronkowski Show. Nick is off today, so I want to pray for Nick and his intentions, but you can get in on the phones at triple eight, nine one four, nine one four nine. That's triple eight, nine one four, nine one four nine. Also, Gavin, I don't know, are you looking at our social media, too? You advise on that?
Gavin (1:45)
Yeah, I'll be reading the ex intentions.
Drew Mariani (1:46)
Good, so he's gonna take a look at that, too. So if you want to send your intention on ex, at Drew Mariani Show, at Drew Mariani Show, follow me at Drew Mariani as well. We're streaming on Relevant Radio Plus and YouTube and Facebook and lots of ways to get plugged in. I have the great privilege of praying today with my colleague Helen and Helen, it's always good to have you here with me. Good afternoon.
Helen (2:06)
Hi, Drew. An honor to pray with you always.
Today is my cousin Jackie's youngest daughter, Carolyn's third birthday and this weekend, I had the opportunity to pop down to All Saints Cemetery and spend time with my aunt Carol, who passed away of cancer a few years ago. And so little Carolyn is my aunt Carol's namesake, named after my aunt Carol and through her intercession, a healthy pregnancy for Jackie. But to re-echo your point of today on the feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows, I would just like to pray for all those who mourn, in a particular way for our colleague Andrew, and for the repose of his dad's soul. And for my little cousin, her daughter Carolyn's grandmother, my aunt Katie, who we've been praying on the Chaplet for, and her own battle with cancer. It's just a heavy couple of days. You can definitely feel it. Father Rocky had an absolutely beautiful homily at Stabat Mater's Mass about the Stabat Mater, right? And he did the whole sequence at Mass. And I would highly recommend anybody going back to Relevant Radio Plus and just listening to the homily. But he really reflected on the word Stabat, which I don't know. I'm not a Latin or Greek scholar. But just about how in sorrow, Our Lady, not that she didn't know sorrow, but she had that strength at the foot of the cross. And I don't want to steal Father's thunder, so.
Drew Mariani (3:42)
No, I'm going to be talking about it, so I'm going to steal a little bit.
But in fact, right after we prayed The Chaplet, if you're not familiar with this feast day, or Our Lady of Sorrow, sometimes I invoke her in this litany at the end of the prayer. We'll go through that, but there's also a really powerful prayer that was given that my wife and I just started at Novena for a particular intention for, to Our Lady of Sorrows. It's The Beads of the Seven Sorrows. It's an ancient prayer. It goes back hundreds of years, fell into disuse, and in Cabenjo, Rwanda, a little tiny landlocked country in the heart of Africa, in the 1980s, a Virgin Mary appeared in the jungles there to these seers. And I was there for the very last apparition of the Mother of God to Alfonsina Moriki. She had come to another seer name, Marie Claire Mucongongo, and revealed this devotion of the Seven Sorrows. Immaculate Ila Baguiza. I know it's a lot of strange names, right? She's a New York Times bestselling author who's going to join me today. She wrote a book on the beads of the seven sorrows. I know you're chaplet devotees, and that's wonderful. This is another prayer that's so powerful.
