Welcome back to Trading 360, I'm Marlee Caden. It's time for the big three, three stocks, three charts for you today. Kevin Green will be taking us through the charts and here to take us through the picks today. Tim Bohen, Chief Technical Trainer at stockstotrade.com. Great to have you both with us. Tim, we got a nice green day in the markets for your latest big three appearance after many days of what felt like opening with downward moves here. Although we did get some more negative and unexpected sentiment this morning. So how are you looking at the market action we've seen so far this week?
Tim Bohen (0:34)
Well, I know a lot of these, we kind of start out with that. I feel like sometimes it's a little bit of a Groundhog Day scenario, but I look at when you get the negative news flow and the market continues to hold up or even green, I just kind of go back to what we've talked about. It's kind of the theme of 2026
The market is just so strong. The buyers continue to step in no matter what the headlines are. Obviously, we go back to the beginning of the year with war and all the things that the Fed has done with rates and the bond market. I mean, it's kind of this Groundhog Day scenario where all the news is either negative or maybe kind of positive, but the market continues to hold up. And I'm still very, very encouraged by that. You know, the trend is still to the upside. I mean, here we are blurting with all time highs and pretty much all the indexes. So I still hold out for that, you know, as that news flow finally starts to pivot. And I know it will happen. The war will eventually come to end, okay? The economy, I mean, I look at a lot of the numbers, you know, the ISM index. I was actually, you know, on Schwab with, you know, Nicole a year ago and I was like, watch that. And nine straight upward prints. Like there's, I hate to use that term, we heard many, you know, about a decade ago, green shoots. There's a lot of green shoots out there. So I think once that positive news flow starts coming through, then it's just going to be off to the races because the market just shakes off any negativity. We just need some positivity and I think it's coming.
Marlee Caden (2:13)
All right. So then let's dive into your pick here. I incorrectly teased the wrong wolf ticker. You've got the wolf with the O, which is Wolfspeed, not TeraWolf with the U, and a completely different sector as well. We're talking semis. And as we look at Wolfspeed, I mean, not one of the more covered semi names, but they did just get a conditional deal from the Department of War that gave them a nice pop. But rotation out of semis this week, they're under some pressure. So how are you looking at them right now, Tim?
Tim Bohen (2:44)
Yeah. And I don't blame you on WULF. That was an idea that I'd shared a couple of times back in the spring.
I probably crossed you out there. But W-O-L-F. Yeah. So, you know, this to me, you know, obviously semiconductor space haven't been raging like they have. But, you know, I just kind of look at it like, obviously, you know, the demand for chips and fabs, et cetera, is just through the roof. So inspired by, you know, TeraFab, what Elon is doing. And I'm looking at this as, you know, stock. I love that that chart's up there. I mean, she got pretty heated back in the spring, kind of pulled back to the previous level, back in the beginning of the year. So the stock has upside. I'm curious to see what KG has breaks down on the chart. But at this point, and, you know, and I never bring politics into trading, but at this point, the administration has pretty good record of picking winners. I mean, you look at the companies that they've invested in, you know, over the last year or so, Intel and the others. I mean, these have been some of the most biggest runners and great trades. So at this point, I like the sector and I'm just kind of like following the win record of the administration at this point. And if they're willing to loan these guys, I think it was $1.5 billion.
I'm like, hey, ride that trend as well.
Marlee Caden (4:07)
Yeah, you were correct. A $1.5 billion financing commitment from the Department of War. I mean, in looking at it from a trend perspective, there's certainly something to be used as a thesis. But KG, when we look at the technicals here for Wolfspeed, what are you seeing? Because it had a pretty significant action through the end of the spring and into the summer, but appears more sideways since then.
