More on that coming up, but first, Rockstar Games has dropped some fresh Grand Theft Auto news, though it's not exactly the update everyone's been waiting for. Starting today, if you own Grand Theft Auto 5 on PS4 or have the digital Xbox One edition, you can upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X slash S version for free. The current Gen version, which arrived in March 2022 and was initially available as a paid upgrade, features visual enhancements and performance boosts, such as faster switching between the three protagonists. You can transfer your saved data and online progress when you upgrade. GTA 5 players on PC can score a free upgrade from an older version to the enhanced edition, which arrived last year as well. Rockstar says that along with the same upgrades the current-gen console versions have, the enhanced edition includes PC-exclusive features, such as ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination.
Fans of K-pop demon hunters might be excited to hear this. There's now a LEGO set. LEGO and Netflix have released the first of what is likely to be many products celebrating the movie, given how every tie-in flies from store shelves. This initial set features Genu's supernatural pet familiars, Derpy Tiger and Sussy Bird, with the six-eyed magpie sitting proudly upon Derpy's head. The set comes with models of the two creatures, inspired by Kachi Harangi, a style of often satirical Korean folk art featuring magpies and tigers. You'll also find a flower pot and a selection of friendship notes, which can sit on Derpy's tongue should you choose to stick it out. Rather cleverly, Derpy's head is hollow, so when you're done playing, you can pop the back off and use it as storage for the tongue, flower pot, and messages. Derpy Tiger and Sussy Bird are available for pre-order right now for $70, with shipping expected to begin on August 1st. Last fall, Google teased that it was working on an all-new Google Home speaker due out sometime in mid-2026. And while it took a tiny bit longer than expected, the company is now taking pre-orders for its latest speaker ahead of its official on-sale date of June 25th. While the new Google Home serves a similar role to the existing Nest Audio, including the ability to function as a linked stereo speakers when paired with a second unit, there are a number of other design changes and upgrades. Instead of relying on directional sound, the Google Home was created to deliver clear 360-degree audio in an even more compact chassis. And when paired with Google's TV streamer, it can even serve up stereo audio when you're watching shows and movies. The outside of the speaker is covered in a 3D knit fabric made from recycled materials and will be available in four colors, Hazel, Porcelain, Jade, and Berry. Another change is that in lieu of putting indicator lights behind the speaker's mesh covering, Google opted for a ring of LEDs around the speaker's base to provide more dynamic feedback when its mic is on and listening to commands or responding to questions. However, the other big upgrade on Google's latest speaker is that Gemini is finally taking center stage as the primary digital assistant.
