This is the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, episode 322

Welcome to the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, where our mission is to help you turn your creative passions into a stable, reliable income. If you're in audio, video, design, photography, or really any other creative field, and you just want to learn from other successful creatives, you're in the right place. Welcome to the 6 Figure Creative Podcast. I'm your host, Brian Hood. If this is your first time listening to the podcast, welcome. Thanks for listening. The goal of the show is to help you earn more from your creative skills, in hopefully a way that doesn't make you feel like you're selling your soul, something that doesn't make you feel slimy and achy using methods that you can hopefully wake up and still look at yourself in the mirror and say, I like you. For those who already listened to the podcast, welcome back. Thanks for coming back to the show again. I've got with me today my wonderful substitute co-host, recurring guest. I don't know, whatever you want to call yourself, Mark. You can just label yourself at this point.

Mark (0:51)

I don't even know what I'm called at this point.

The Prince of the 6 Figure Creative Podcast.

Mark (0:56)

I'm the beautiful prince of the 6 Figure Creative Podcast. That's going to be my new LinkedIn.

Brian Hood (1:02)

I come with you with unfortunate, sad regrets from the other weekend when I was supposed to come visit you. Me and Megan were coming into town. You were going to treat me to brunch. You were going to pay for the whole meal.

Mark (1:11)

I never said I was going to pay for the whole meal, but I was going to treat you there. No, I was kidding. I would have paid.

Brian Hood (1:15)

No, I'm just joking. I would have probably paid for you. But unfortunately, we had COVID in the house, which for some background, we got it back in June 2020 We were the first people that I knew that got it. Maybe we got it when we were in Southeast Asia in January and just it finally hit us in June. That's probably not the case. And then we got the old Vax, the old Stab, and then we still got it again. And this is like two weeks before we're leaving for Bali. So like, actually, it was probably a good thing that we got it. So we don't have to worry about getting it while we're traveling, right? But either way, I was sad because I didn't get to see you, my dude.

Mark (1:44)

It's okay. Well, a couple of things. I've had COVID three times now. It just, it can't stay away from me. And I got it internationally twice, which that was fun. But for those of you guys listening, Brian is actually like super picky about brunch. So I was like really thinking all week, like where am I going to take this guy? Where the hell am I going to take Brian for brunch? He's not going to like wherever I take him.

Brian Hood (2:06)

You're in Charlotte. We have people in our listener podcast from Charlotte who have been to Charlotte. Where are we going to take me?

Mark (2:12)

Well, okay. Real quick. Nashville is known for their brunch. Everybody I know in Nashville, they're like, hey, you want to get brunch? Everybody here is like, do you want to grab breakfast, bro? It's like, yeah, I'm down for breakfast.

Brian Hood (2:22)

My wife literally ran a brunch-themed Instagram account called Brunch Phil. She got like thousands of followers from that, like years ago when we were like absolute brunch fiends. She got tired of it and just kind of abandoned it, but it was a fun season.

Mark (2:34)

There's a good brunch scene here, allegedly, but I was going to take you to Athe and Sand. If you guys in Charlotte listen to this, Athe and Sand is dope. Very good. I was going to get you the Shakshuka, bro. It was very delicious.

Brian Hood (2:46)

I promise anyone who's new to this podcast, we're not going to talk about brunch for the rest of this. We actually have a really great topic to talk about today. But you're right. When you talked about me being a picky brunch eater, I was looking at our budget recently, and we spend, I think, more on food as a couple than we spend on our housing. I think that was the last I looked.

Mark (3:03)

Well, last time I visited, or no, a couple of times ago when I visited, you were just so excited about brunch. And I'm just thinking to myself, this guy loves brunch. And I'm like, all right, I'm going to go with it. I love brunch. I'm like a simple guy. Give me a solid bagel, a good one. I'll be good with that. But brunch, it's just there's, everyone's like Hollandaise sauce. It's like, I don't want to get poisoned.
