Coming up next, Jeff Jarvis and I dig into Anthropic, blowing past OpenAI to a $965 billion valuation in the same week. It dropped Opus 4.8, all while OpenAI passed one billion monthly active users. It's a crazy race going on. Also, Google's AI Overviews getting an opt-out for publishers starting in the EU. Microsoft burying us in seven new AI models that build in different pieces of hardware. Really interesting stuff there. Nvidia trying to reinvent the PC with an ARM chip called RTX Spark. And the very weird problem of companies beginning to ration AI because the bills, well, they're pretty expensive. That's coming up next on this episode of the AI Inside Podcast.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to yet another episode of the AI Inside Podcast, the show where we take a look at the AI that is layered like a layer cake through the world of technology. I am one of your hosts, Jason Howell, joined as always by my friend and co-host, Jeff, Jeffrey Jarvis.

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:16)
Have you ever? My mother was mad at me.

**Jason Howell** (2:17)
Yes, Jeffrey was your, oh no, I'm in trouble.

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:20)
And she got particularly mad at me when we had our wedding invitations printed, and I said, Jeff Jarvis. She was outraged.

**Jason Howell** (2:28)
Oh really?

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:28)
Oh yeah, she was so pissed at me. Should have said Jeffrey.

**Jason Howell** (2:33)
So then when you were born, I guess I never really considered it, but Jeff is a more casual version of Jeffrey. Jeffrey was your birth certificate name?

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:43)
Yeah, it's like John and Jonathan, whatever, right?

**Jason Howell** (2:45)
Yeah.

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:46)
And they thought that maybe the other name that was in the running was Timothy. They thought it'd be very funny that it'd be Tiny Tim, 6'4, not quite as big as you are, but yeah, so I was, and my byline is Jeff for years, and that's the way I am. I'm just Jeff. Oh, she's mad. Oh, she called me Jeffrey a lot right then.

**Jason Howell** (3:06)
Yeah. Oh, I'm sure.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:07)
I'm sure. I'm sure.

**Jason Howell** (3:09)
Well, Jeffrey.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:09)
So we got news today. Good Lord, we got news today. I was just going, we're going to go through it for everybody, but my God, I can't even believe we have news from Microsoft.

**Jason Howell** (3:18)

Whoa, what was that?

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:39)
That was me forgetting that I hadn't muted the...

**Jason Howell** (3:42)
Oh, I was like, is somebody being projected through a PA on the other side or something?

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:49)
Sorry about that.

**Jason Howell** (3:50)
Maybe that was the Daily Podcast playing because you can't pull yourself away from it. I get it. I get it.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:55)
It's pretty awesome all the time. Yes, yes.

**Jason Howell** (3:56)
